Deco X55 - Can I connect to the router wirelessly?
No, I do not think so, unless your router is also a TP-Link router and supports this mesh system. Otherwise what you can do is get another deco single pack cheap one, plug it into your router, and then plug the x55 wherever you want.

need help
For the best connection you need to connect from router to your devices by ethernet, if you go from Main Access Point to upstairs via WiFi and then from there to xbox via ethernet, then you will probably still have a bottleneck with slow speeds at the WiFi connection. What is your current WiFi device

Please suggest a decent upgrade from a wrt54g
Nice one, I had one of those, they must have come out in the early 2000s. Get a TP Link Deco X55 with WiFi 6, mid price range and can have more access points added if you need a mesh network. You could probably also go with their budget X20 if what you got has been fine until now.

Home network brand selection
I’ve got a Deco X55 as main unit, a X50 outdoor PoE for my car en charger and a X50 PoE to cover my entire house. 160m2 old brick house with basement. Your M5 units are WiFi5 and you will see a significant improvement in coverage when upgrading to WiFi6. For now I would not spend the extra money on

Mi sugerencia va más all

NYC Apartment WiFi: New AP vs Mesh
Summary: You didn't mention the size of the apartment, but I get the impression it's not a massive residence. The easiest thing to try first is a wireless extender. Connect the wireless extender halfway between the router and where you want to boost wireless signal, ensuring the wireless extender ha

Using your own router
I got mine to work but my work laptop just wouldn’t work so I had to put my Deco X55 into AP mode and then all was good with the world. As I work from home almost all the time I couldn’t mess about with it.

Router with long range or decos ?
I would go mesh. It's been awhile since I've owned a conventional router and used extenders. Maybe things have gotten better, but an advantage with mesh networks is that you can roam your house and the handoff between network devices is seamless. I mean, everyone has a smartphone right? Your station

Reliable Wi-Fi 6 Router for Smart Home & 100+ Devices
Totally makes sense to upgrade those old AirPort Extremes. They were great, but 50+ devices will definitely push them past their limits. For a solid, reliable Wi-Fi 6 mesh setup that won’t break the bank, I’d suggest checking out the TP-Link Deco X55 or Eero 6+ Both play nicely with Apple Gear, Wind

Got fiber but the upstairs only gets a weak signal.
If you don’t need WiFi 6E, you can just get this deco x55 with 3 pods for $150.. https://www.amazon.com/WiFi-6-Mesh-System-AX3000/dp/B09PRB1MZM/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.YleKxIEcoqRtquLmyLU5vhMHm-AuXoaEKOCDvwuTm2NYvcrL73Nc4GFIAAqsLd3rfi2IZP89iVjcjXVok_ocnRM6HkpXb4SqwNts2fSD4OVYkRtRvpH5ZAX6lMlLxTbR
