Get a mesh wifi like a tplink deco x20 pack of 3. Turn the wlan in your router off and make the main deco as your access point.

I had those same problems with my network of TP Link Deco X20 in mesh. The solution was to pass the Nest speakers to the 2.4GHz network and set the default node to which they must be connected.

A decent mesh with strategically placed access points will probably work just fine here. I like the TP-link Deco X20 if I’m building a non-unifi system.

What mode do you plan to use the Deco X20 in? Router or AP? Your description would mean using them in AP mode and would work, keeping your existing router as the gateway for the network. TP-Link EAP720 por 610 if you have the cable terminated on the ceiling and if you want enterprise grade network. But if you dont want to go through all of the hassle and investing in additional hardware (PoE switch) then just go with a mesh wifi, preferably Deco X20 (I have Deco in a similar setup)
