I want to buy my bf a knïfe. His dream one is The Nikos kniife, but after checking online many are saying it’s bad quality and it’s basically a scam. What high quality knïfe would you recommend as a “dupe”? I believe the main reason he loves the Nikos one is because it has such a large blade

Just cannot get good at sharpening

Yea I bought the Amazon stones before reading that could be actually harder. I have pretty decent knives I feel (misono carbon steel gyuto and Tojiro dp gyuto are my main work horses) just super frustrating learning curve i guess. Especially when im using them everyday for precision knife work.

Is there a point where a knife simply isn’t worth sharpening?

What brand knife is that, imo some knives are so cheaply made with trash steel they aren't necessarily worth the effort.
