Espresso on the 078

its possible, but not optimal - the grind adjustment thread on the 078 is coarser, compared to the 078S mechanism, so the grind selection is not as granular, making the dial-in a bit more difficult on the 078, the adjustment is also stepped, but you can disable that by removing a small part correcti

Recently upgraded from BBE built-in grinder to a Timemore 078S

I love my 078s. My tips are: Get a magnetic pointer for the grind dial. It's impossible to get repeatable adjustments without it. Check that you can get burr chirp somewhere between 0 and 1.0. If there is no chirp at 0, or you get chirp at a number greater than 1.0, then move the zero point pin. My

Has anyone purchased a Niche Zero recently? Did you have to pay any tariffs?

I now have a Timemore 078 with SSP burrs and very happy with it. it’s definitely unforgiving for espresso compared to Niche.

New Machine, Mechanika Max paired with Timemore O78s

I love my 078s. Some tips are: Get a magnetic pointer for the grind dial. It's impossible to get repeatable adjustments without it. If you can't grind fine enough, move the zero point pin one (or more if necessary) hole in the counter-clockwise direction to grind finer. If you get burr chirp as you

Best coffee grinder in 2026 for home? My Budget $100–$300

I used it for espresso for a while before upgrading to an electric, it's great but manual grinding for espresso can be tedious. Still 100% recommend it as even after upgrading to a timemore sculptor 078s I use my k ultra for pour overs and leave the sculptor on my espresso setting. I also use it for

Profitec Move or Rancilio Silvia Pro [$2Kish Budget]

I don't have experience with either espresso machine, although I prefer the Move based on its specs. I have owned both a Specialita and Niche Zero in the past, so I can give better advice on them. Both do a great job with traditional, full bodied espresso which chocolatey flavors brewed from medium

Help me choose a coffee grinder!! [$500 budget]

I would go with a Df64v also available in a gen2. It takes up less space. For those who mentioned 064s, I have a Timemore 078s, which I got at kickstarter price. I love it, but I don’t recommend any Timemore Sculptor if you want easy access to burrs for cleaning, or ever plan to swap burrs. Also, I

How much of an upgrade will this be? [$1000]

I have a Touch Impress and I just bought a Timemore Sculptor 078s. Wife continues to use the Touch Impress internal grinder to make Cold Brew and her other drinks. I use the 078s for espresso and any milk drinks I want. I’d like something more hobbyist eventually, but right now it’s worked well hold
