4-bay NAS for home storage: TerraMaster F4-425 Plus vs UGREEN DXP4800 Plus?
Based on your needs, I’d say the TerraMaster F4-425 Plus is a decent option. The 2.5GbE network port makes transferring large photo and video libraries noticeably faster than standard 1GbE. Its CPU and RAM run Plex, Docker, and other services more smoothly than entry-level models. Setup is simple, w

Is TerraMaster NAS a good choice?
I have and like the f4-425 plus. I think it’s great value. I’ve installed TrueNAS on mine since day 1. Synology absolutely has the most refined OS for user experience. TOS7 is in beta and surely coming out “soon”? Depends what you actually want out of your NAS. The terramaster is actually powerful e

F6-424 as on offsite back up. Has TOS reputation improved?
The 424 series is a really good model. I have the F4-424 Max with a beta version of TOS 7 and I can tell you it's a very good pairing / system for the money. No need for TruSCALE or UnRAID. TOS 6 and or 7 will cover all the bases you mention in your post. As you mentioned, a six bay with Intel CPU,

is TOS always this janky or am I just.... doing something wrong?
I went straight to OMV and it’s been awesome. F4-425 Plus and it’s been rock solid as a file/media server. If anyone’s looking for a new OS give it a shot. It’s was a really easy install from a usb stick and setting up basic folder shares etc is really straightforward but if you want to get into con

TerraMaster Store Sale!
I am having a hard time choosing between the F4-425Max and the new F4-425 plus.( which seems great bang for buck with standard dual 5GbE) The max only seems to Bring the 10GBE and CPU and you know they must be working on a. F4- 425 Max as well to be released soon.,

F4-425 Plus TOS6 vs TrueNAS
I also have the F4-425 Plus. I'm a complete beginner and overwhelmed by the possibilities. The hardware is top-notch, and I'm only now realizing that I haven't just bought a data storage device. I'm still setting everything up and I'm worried I might be making the wrong decisions for the future. I h

F6-424 as on offsite back up. Has TOS reputation improved?
I have model F2-212 with TOS 5.1, it's older than TOS 6 but it does the job well. I just got this unit few weeks back, and exceeded all my expectations. Should have got it a long time ago. In my version, i can configure anything I want. I haven't done remote access which is what you want to do, but

Looking for good NAS for unraid for plex
Yep but if you can afford the F4-425 Plus then get that instead. The 425 is based on the older 11th Gen N5105 and the Plus uses the newer 12 Gen N150. The older unit is missing things like AVX2 which is needed by some software.

Terramaster vs. Urgreen base models
URGREEN DH4300 Plus: ARM processor, non-upgradable RAM. TerraMaster F4-425/Plus: Intel x86 processor, supports Quick Sync hardware transcoding. Verdict: For video processing or homelab use, the x86 model is the better choice.
