Joined the club - how to keep it warm for longer?

I have the thermal carafe KBT version and I actually brew into a chemex carafe because I feel like the moccamaster carafe makes the coffee taste metallic, which I don't like.

grind size/coffee to water ratio

I'll probably get hate mail for this, but for me the Moccamaster produces uneven extraction. I can close my basket (KBT) so to "fix" the issue, I do 3 cups of water to 18g coffee, let it steep 4.5 minutes and drain into a mug. perfect eveytime :)
