Best drip coffee makers for home with no bells and whistles?
I'll be the first to say the usual answer of Technivorm Moccamaster. Literally only 2 switches, on/off and half/full brew. I really like mine, they're hand made, it's built like a tank and you get a lifelong warranty.

What makes the Technivorm Moccamaster so good ? Is it really that good ?
Not an expert or authority, but I have owned one (KBGT). It does brew very good coffee, but other coffee brewers out there can as well. The difference with the Moccamaster is that many people consider it a buy-it-for-life purchase. They are hand made (https://youtu.be/W8_NXtwr-qg). They maintain ide

Um.. should we tell them?
I use this Moccamaster to start a coffee in the middle of the night when I have to catch a flight early. You turn off the smart switch but turn on the coffee maker, pre-fill the water tank, pre-open the valve, pre-grind the beans and place them into the filter. When the smart switch turns on the pou

What am I doing wrong that my grounds have two deep holes apparent after brewing?
There are all sorts of techniques out there (stir, pause and let bloom, get a new showerhead, etc. etc.) but I’d suggest forget all of that. The Moccamaster became popular and well liked brewing just as is, following Technivorm’s instructions. As for the divots in your grounds I get that every now a

I think my Zojirushi made a better single cup..
KGBV select imho is not a great choice for one-cup brewing to be honest. It works better when operated with larger brewing amounts, let's say, half a litre upwards. For your use-case, I might have considered - if it had to be Moccamaster - a Cup-One. Your Zojirushi Zutto on the other hand appears to

Different Moccamaster KBGV Brew basket, and water basin lids: My In-Law's new Moccamaster has different plastic lids compared to my ~3 year old one of the same model. New, cheaper feeling lids not shown on product pages.
I bought the newer type MoccaMaster for the half pot selector, new color and design parity with their grinder. I had a older one from 2005 which I gifted to my parents. At my job we have various moccamasters. A few remarks regarding the quality of MoccaMasters from my experience: -The old one had a

Best coffee machines under $300 to put on wedding registry?
The moccamaster is the gold standard for good drip coffee. Buttttttt it doesn’t have a timer and you have to physically turn it on and off. Unless you got an outlet timer adapter thing. If you’re a regular coffee person, I would suggest the breville luxe or the behmor brazen 2.0. Just solid coffee m

Switching from a Keurig - is it worth the money over a Ninja etc. ?
It’s well worth it. The Moccamaster is a buy it for life type of item and it will last you a very, very long time. The cooper heating element is extremely well built and gets hotter than any ninja machine will. The shower head is designed to give your coffee as perfect of a bloom as possible for a d

Is upgrading to a Moccamaster actually worth it if I’m fine with my cheap drip machine?
Water temp is going to be the biggest difference. The Aromaboy doesn't heat the water hot enough for full extraction. That said, the Moccamaster isn't magic. It only provides the correct brew temp at the correct flow rate. If you want an excellent cup of coffee you will also need quality fresh roast

I think my search for the best coffee maker is over
I adore my Moccamaster. I have practically every coffee gadget known to man. Ok, not really...but it's close. Chemex, V60, French press, moka pot, percolator, Aeropress. I feel like I'm missing a few... I had a Zojirushi drip maker for years that made a perfectly adequate cup every morning before wo
