Good coffee maker for better coffee at home?

Technivorm Moccamaster, the absolute gold standard for coffee machines and it does go on sale at Amazon regularly; you’ll pay for it but it makes drip coffee that tastes like pour over in a consistent basis and it is very easy and quick. You also want to make sure you are grinding the beans fresh in

Favorite coffee machine??

Before you buy a coffee machine, buy a good quality burr grinder. Grinding your own fresh beans just before you brew them will make an enormous difference in the quality of your coffee. Coffee begins to lose its flavor within 20 minutes of grinding, so buying pre-ground coffee is really a non-starte

Are coffee cleaners worth buying? Are they harmful or useless?

I own a Moccamaster and use the recommended cleaner and descaler. Technivorm specifically advises against citric acid and vinegar, and I follow their advice. They've been making and servicing the Moccamaster since 1971 and the cleaning products they recommend will keep the machine running for many y

The "bitter" flavor of decaf only happens because the grounds weren't frozen fast enough after decaffeination, and/or were transported too slowly at too high of a temperature. Bosch coffee grinder with almost 10 years of daily use

Filter machine with a decent lifespan/fixable from EU? I think the gold standard here is Technivorm Moccamaster. Owned and made in the Netherlands. In my filter coffee loving country I daily encounter Moccamasters from several different decades and all are going strong. Spare parts are widely availa

If you had to recommend one coffee maker in 2026, what would it be?

If you just want a stupid reliable, low complexity, repairable workhorse of a drip brewer and cost is no object, the Technivorm Moccamaster is what you're looking for. It's an icon for a reason. I love mine.

Loving the "plastic free" life

I think many brewers are equally “non-toxic” as the moccamaster. Toxin leaching is one thing. Microplastics another, and no plastic is immune to shedding microplastics when exposed to hot food or liquid. Most major brand coffee makers use pfas free plastic and virtually all are bpa free and have bee
