Security Risk - Why Is My Default Gateway (Router Access) Suddenly Now Taking Me Elsewhere?
If you choose to replace the router, I suggest you look at the Synology RT6600ax. I'm quite enjoying it. I particularly like the hundreds of various network threats you can manage. I'm paranoid so I set them all to 'drop the connection' if triggered. I also like the ability to make separate WiFi SSI

Upgrade my router?
That RT6600ax should be enough already. Just make sure you rebooted the modem if the speed upgrade just happened. If router placement is good, not on the floor not enclosed, you should be fine unless you’re on 2.4ghz for some reason. In that case split the 2.4ghz band to a diff ssid or turn it off i

Can you install Tailscale Client on Synology Router (WRX560)
Yes, I installed Tailscale on my RT6600ax. Assume the WRX560 is similar. Went to this link and downloaded latest version for DSM7 ARMv8 https://pkgs.tailscale.com/stable/#spks Used 7-Zip to extract files to separate directory. Used 7-Zip again to extract files "tailscale" and "tailscaled" from "pack

Wireless only router?
You can also use windows parental controls to limit time on the pc. I've used that with my younger kids for years now. You can either limit it to a window if time (e.g. 7 an to midnight) or a set amount of time per day (e.g. 4 hours of use per day) or both. If they need me time they can request it a

Do the 360 Pods work?
What are you calling a "modem"? The NID? If so, then you should have a separate WiFi router somewhere in your house. My NID is just that, no router, no wifi, just a 2gbe port on the bottom side. It's a Q1000K in bridge mode going to my Synology RT6600AX with a wired backhaul WRX560. My wifi speeds h

First time Ubiquiti user
I did like Synology. It's probably my top choice besides this so far. This is technically the upgrade for my Synology RT6600ax + DS224+ combo. I've been wanting WiFi 7 and multi-gig since a majority of my devices support it, so I started exploring other options. If Synology comes out with a WiFi 7 r

(UK) Voda broadband with Hub 7 and Devolo Magic Lan
Hi, I too have suffered the same problem with the Pro 3 knocking out the internet connection whenever I attach my devolo magic power line adapter. Has anyone found a solution? The only reason I selected the Pro3 was to retain my landline connection that wouldn’t work on my Rt6600ax even with3rd part

Synology RT2600
Only you know if you "need" Wi-Fi 6, if so the non-6 Synology would be a poor option. In theory 6 coverage will be better than 5 but if you have 5 only devices (as some cameras are) then an extender might be a better option. OTOH the Synology has features that the Spectrum router does not provide. K

Need some help choosing a suitable router.
Top options are the ASUS RT-AX88U Pro for strong performance, the Netgear Nighthawk RAX120 for reliability, and the Synology RT6600ax for good features. These offer solid coverage and handle multiple devices well without huge speed drops.

Tailscale on Synology ROUTER
Did you ever load Tailscale on your router? I went to this link and downloaded latest version for DSM7 ARMv8 https://pkgs.tailscale.com/stable/#spks Used 7-Zip to extract files to separate directory.
