Anybody else having lots of issues lately?

Yes, I have the RT6600AX, and I’m meshing with an RT 2600AC. They’re excellent routers, I really do like them, they’re a little long in the tooth now but the software is excellent for an IT guy like me who wants a lot of control. For most of my clients I recommend and install Eero, but I have a few

In light of the government's warning about TP-Link routers being compromised and all the other negative news about them, would use of a VPN or hardware firewall like Firewalla or Ubiquity do any good?

Try Synology RT2600ac or RT6600ax Router and add an external NVMe SSD to run their Threat Prevention App Add-on (Suricata IPS Based). Great router and firewall and IPS for the money and easy to manage. Gets daily updates for security. https://www.synology.com/en-us/products/compare/routers

Another router rec request

What kind of ISP speeds do you pay for? There are very few WiFi routers that support VLANs out-of-the-box. The Synology rt6600ax might work for you. It supports up to 4 VLANs. It has 4 ports (total). . . 1 x 2.5Gb than can be configured as WAN or LAN, and 3 x 1Gb ports. The router is a bit under-pow

Neptuno vs osnet

I recently moved from Palmas Del Mar (Liberty coax service) to a new development in Gurabo (Cuidad Jardin), where we have both Liberty fiber and Neptuno fiber to all the new homes. I went with Liberty fiber since my home came pre-wired with Liberty fiber to the inside DMARC (i.e., the inside network

First time Ubiquiti user

I did like Synology. It's probably my top choice besides this so far. This is technically the upgrade for my Synology RT6600ax + DS224+ combo. I've been wanting WiFi 7 and multi-gig since a majority of my devices support it, so I started exploring other options. If Synology comes out with a WiFi 7 r

Sonic Internet Modem/Router

I have a synology rt6600ax. I haven’t had any problems with it. I figure most people could go with something considerably cheaper, but I’m a rather heavy user, so I splashed out a bit. The funny thing is, unless you go super high end, your router is going to be the choke point of your network, becau

Synology RT2600

Only you know if you "need" Wi-Fi 6, if so the non-6 Synology would be a poor option. In theory 6 coverage will be better than 5 but if you have 5 only devices (as some cameras are) then an extender might be a better option. OTOH the Synology has features that the Spectrum router does not provide. K

Newbie to Fiber Internet— what to expect?

I've been out of the 'consumer' router market for over a decade, last recommendation I was making to people was the Synology because the software package was above and beyond anything any other vendor was doing. You could use it to run a VPN, local file sharing, all sorts of packages thanks to Synol

HomeKit and Synology Router Configuration

I run a RT 6600ax with a wired back haul RT6600ax AP in the basement since release. No issues to report outside of the "normal" HK issues. 18.3 seems to really be wonky but becoming more stable with time. Routers as AIR are running default settings with threat prevention active. Latest software rele
