Which synology NAS for transcoding very high quality movies
As ppl have said already, it depends on if your playback device supports the codecs used in the media for direct playback (no transcoding), or if you'll have enough bandwidth in the network to even do direct playback, or if you'll transcode it in case some codecs are unsupported. the Synology Beesta

You can host web version of obsidian. https://www.reddit.com/r/ObsidianMD/s/5ADZMxfyrD I hosts it on a synology ds720+. It's laggy sometimes but it's usable.

N100 vs DS220+
I had everything running on a DS720+, I moved it all to a N100 and very happy I did. Everything is just smoother. Also all my downloads are happening on that machine. I now only use the synology for storage and cloud sync. Not a single Docker is running on it anymore.
