Go from Garmin Forerunner 970 if you want the most data and pace-assisting tools (PacePro) to optimize every minute of your race. It's the choice of the "data-driven athlete." Go from Suunto Race 2 if you prefer a stronger watch, with a more fluid map navigation screen and a battery that won't leave

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Been a Suunto fanboy since my Ambit 3 Sport many years ago. They are just streamlined, solid, reliable tanks. Have a Race 2 currently and am just blown away every day with its battery, build and overall performance!

Are you sure about Garmin discontinuing the support for Epix 2? In my understanding they do not offer the new features for ”F7 line-up” buy do bring any essential security updates and bug fixes. Anyhow, I do understand your frustration towards Garmin as I’ve spied the conversations and updates about

Please don't make it a smartwatch like some competitors, keep it a product for outdoor enthusiasts. I am with Suunto for reliability and simplicity in the mountains. Improve wrist HR, articulate the bezel on the vertical like the race, keep the Vertical 2 made in Finland.

For me, no notable problems for a month with my Race 2, I'm even super happy with it. It is beautiful, simple and effective, it records what you need when you need it (hiking, running, mountain biking) I think it takes a little time to get to know its owner, but after two weeks already, the sleep tr

Had multiple Suunto watches. Currently using the Race 2 and the Vertical Ti Solar. I’ve had no issues. I’m surprised how many people do and not sure if it’s unmet expectations, knowledge or what. Obviously may use social media to put their issues out there. The company could not survive of it was al

I'm looking to upgrade from my Garmin Fenix 6S so I'm trying out all the major watches that I could get for under $500. From left to right: Epix Pro 51mm, Suunto Race 2, Coros Nomad. I've used the Epix Pro for around 3 weeks and have to return it soon if I don't decide to keep it. It's an excellent

I'm an outdoor pro, I started my career in emergency survival, moved to mountaineering (in a director of ops role not as a guide), and currently I'm working in backcountry hunting in a very niche capacity. I'm also a civilian working dog handler, but I have a background working with law enforcement

I’ve been using Garmin for most of the last 10 years. I tried Polar for a while, but moved to the new Suunto Race 2 because the HR sensor on the Polar V3 was terrible and the app was honestly a mess. I’m very happy with the Race 2 overall. It’s sapphire glass, so no scratches, has awesome battery li

I'm in the same boat. I've been a Garmin user for over ten years, but lately I'm alienated because of their prices combined with lack of effort on their part. Forerunner 970 is one of the laziest products in my recent memory. Given that 970 is not an option for me mainly due to its high price and sh
