Go from Garmin Forerunner 970 if you want the most data and pace-assisting tools (PacePro) to optimize every minute of your race. It's the choice of the "data-driven athlete." Go from Suunto Race 2 if you prefer a stronger watch, with a more fluid map navigation screen and a battery that won't leave

I use race 2 since 4 months. I had 3 restarts during 2 long runs in training and worse, one during my race. During the training it's unfortunate but I can live with it. During my race, I'm only missing 500 meters of 23km because I had the chance to check my watch relatively soon after the bug. I was

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Been a Suunto fanboy since my Ambit 3 Sport many years ago. They are just streamlined, solid, reliable tanks. Have a Race 2 currently and am just blown away every day with its battery, build and overall performance!

I have the race 2 and the pace pro and disagree. my race 2 feels choppy even after updating and the bezel scroll feels laggy compared to the pace pro. The pace pro is extremely smooth and easy to use and the experience has never failed me compared to the race2. I think the better comparison is the e

I’ve been using Garmin for most of the last 10 years. I tried Polar for a while, but moved to the new Suunto Race 2 because the HR sensor on the Polar V3 was terrible and the app was honestly a mess. I’m very happy with the Race 2 overall. It’s sapphire glass, so no scratches, has awesome battery li

I'm in the same boat. I've been a Garmin user for over ten years, but lately I'm alienated because of their prices combined with lack of effort on their part. Forerunner 970 is one of the laziest products in my recent memory. Given that 970 is not an option for me mainly due to its high price and sh

From what I understand from Suunto strategy, they differentiate their products mainly through hardware differences vs. software. For us consumers that's great cuz they don't paywall or lock features to only more expensive watches. To be honest based on Chase The Summit's youtube review, the UI is li

I have used the T-Rex 3 Pro for about two weeks now, in conjunction with my Helio Strap that I've been wearing for about 4 weeks. And I'd call myself very satisfied so far. I have to mention that these are my first fitness wearables, so I cannot really compare. As a tech savvy and relatively sporty

Plus the Suunto is basically half the price for all the same features - battery life being one of the big ones I looked for. Battery life - even on full multi-system GPS tracking, no battery saving - is amazingly good in the Race. Other watches like the Garmin or Coros have similar great battery lif

I upgraded from a 9 Peak to the Race 2 with an upcoming ultramarathon in mind. The battery on my old watch wouldn't last long enough for the race and I didn't want to hassle with a battery pack in the aid stations. And I figured it would be a nice reward for all the training, regardless of how the a
