Office chairs kinda just all suck
I like to sit up straight as well. that‘s why I chose a chair with strong lumbar support to keep my back upright, support me sufficiently and also where I don‘t need to lean my upper back on the backrest. Steelcase Gesture is exactly that for me. No leaning back. Sitting upright by good support in l

Going insane trying to find a good chair.
Buying a chair is honestly like buying a shoes. You really never know until you sit in one. That said,.consider the height/weight of the person you are getting the feedback from. I am 6'3 and 200 lbs, I didn't like the Gesture. My wife is 4'11 and ~100 lbs, she loves it. Pros: The build quality is t

Not One Of Those Miracle Deal Gesture Finds But...
It’s such a relief to find a chair that actually supports your lower back during long hours. The fact that even your cat loves it is the cherry on top!

Not One Of Those Miracle Deal Gesture Finds But...
I never really experienced pain, but the lumbar just fits like a glove for me. Don't get me wrong. The Amia and the leap v2 are still great seats. The Gesture is just better with it's arms as a guitar player.

Not One Of Those Miracle Deal Gesture Finds But...
I recently purchased the same model with the headrest. When adjusted according to the recommended guidelines, I experienced significant lower‑back discomfort, so I’ve had to position the seat fully backwards. This gives me the proper lumbar support i desire, but it also leaves roughly a hand width b

Best Steelcase chair to buy in 2026 for 8+ hours of daily use?
The 24-hour rating distinction is worth clarifying. That certification is mostly aimed at healthcare, dispatch, and industrial settings where chairs run continuously with shift workers. It sets a higher durability standard for truly non-stop use. Steelcase doesn't market the Gesture to that category

This is honestly the worse sub if you're trying to find a chair
I don’t know if you’ve looked at a Steelcase Gesture, but it may work well with your body. The arms are super adjustable, the lumbar support can get very lower, the seat depth can also be pretty short to accommodate your legs. The backs on them are a little higher and they do have headrests availabl

Where to go to get a good office chair?
Make a day of going and trying out all the office chairs that you can. I did this and settled on a Steelcase Gesture because of my height. I just couldn't find something that offered the lumbar support that I needed. There is a model of this in leather but it's quite expensive. They do have a warran

New office chair needed.
Steelcase sets industry standard and always recommend. Recently purchased an open box Gesture from Crandall Office Furniture and it's been fantastic as well as looking great. Good back support and personally the moveable arms are nice as my body changes.
