This sub is way too high end
The unfortunate reality is that you really are better off buying second-hand/used compared to the offerings under a few hundred dollars. These brands are great, and objectively so. Does this mean you’ll like their chairs? No (but likely yes!). Nobody is asking you to spend thousands. The used market

Best Office Chair Brand Right Now In 2026?
If you can, I’d HIGHLY recommend checking out a Herman Miller, Steelcase, or Haworth dealer near you before pulling the trigger. Also would be good to know about your general seating habits (how long you’re sitting, how often you get out of your chair, preference for mesh or fabric, etc.). Would als

What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner?
My family uses pre-owned Steelcase Leap & Amia chairs bought off Facebook Marketplace or put out to trash by local businesses (businesses throw out so much stuff for shinier new things). They've been more comfortable and held up better than whatever office chairs we had been buying from Staples or O

I went to a showroom and turns out the Herman Miller wasn't great for ergonomics
The Areon, which is thier most popular chair, comes from a time where ergonomics were considered a fixed caged posture and nothing else. Since the 90’s the field of ergonomics understood that it’s normal to have movements in your chair and made designs that adapt to that. I don’t have places to test

Where to go for luxury office chairs?
graphic office interiors in saanichton has steelcase chairs if you are in that kind of budget (in and around the $1k mark). the leap, series 1/2, amia, and a few others are not mesh. you might need to call ahead to book an appointment, but they had all the chairs as demos to try in-store when I boug

desk chair recs for petite women? (specifically for criss-cross sitters!)
Fellow criss cross sitter here and seat depth matters way more than people think. I’d honestly look at the Steelcase Amia or Herman Miller Sayl if you can find one used. Skip big gaming chairs. Most are awful for petite people and the headrests are always weirdly placed.

Steelcase amia validity + opinions
That’s a genuine amia, looks brand new too. While Steelcase is known for their Leap, the Amia is pretty highly rated and is pretty adjustable and comfy.

Desk chair recs for petite women
I am 5'0 as well and use a Steelcase Amia. I bought it specifically because it lets me sit cross-legged on it. (As an aside, I found out that I sit cross legged because I have never had a desk that sat low enough for me to put my chair close enough to the ground that I can have my feet flat on the f

desk chair recs for petite women? (specifically for criss-cross sitters!)
I'm 5' 0” and am also a criss cross sitter. I have a SteelCase Amia and it's the best thing I've ever owned. The arms articulate enough that I can sit normally just as comfortably as I can shrimp in it. Super flexible and the seat cushion being nearly flat means no pinch points on my legs when sitti
