What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner?

My family uses pre-owned Steelcase Leap & Amia chairs bought off Facebook Marketplace or put out to trash by local businesses (businesses throw out so much stuff for shinier new things). They've been more comfortable and held up better than whatever office chairs we had been buying from Staples or O

Desk chair recs for petite women

I am 5'0 as well and use a Steelcase Amia. I bought it specifically because it lets me sit cross-legged on it. (As an aside, I found out that I sit cross legged because I have never had a desk that sat low enough for me to put my chair close enough to the ground that I can have my feet flat on the f

I bought a Steelcase Leap V2 in November 2024 when I started working from home, and after over a year of sitting in it I can positively say I hate it.

I do think chairs are like beds and sitting in them for a few minutes really doesn't give you an accurate picture of what each one will feel like after sitting in them for hours a day. Personally the only thing that worked for me is buying a chair and returning it if it starts to hurt. I went throug

Tried Every “Top” Ergonomic Chair For My Awkward 6’5” Frame

If you get the chance, definitely try out the Steelcase Amia. I’m 6'3" and about 102 kg, and it’s been fantastic for me. I spend 12+ hours a day in it between work and leisure, and I never end up sore. The armrests are basically the same as the Leap, so you’ll get a similar feel there. I added a bit

WFH folks, is a $1,000 chair really worth it?

I also used this site for a B-grade chair. It came with a gash on the underside of the arm that wasn’t mentioned or photographed, but it didn’t impact me at all. Love the chair I got, steelcase amia.

I hate you guys! /s

The Steelcase Leap V2 is the greatest chair I’ve ever owned. Welcome to comfort bliss. My wife uses an Amia but I prefer the backrest locking positions. Either way, Steelcase for the win.

Own Embody and Aeron — both give me back pain now. Looking for alternatives

I had an Embody for several years before I started getting pain. It’s like it lost its cushion and started digging into me. I gave the Aeron a chance but had severe pain with the mesh and hard border around the seat. Returned the Aeron shortly after purchase. I currently have a Steelcase Amia and fi

Is the Herman Miller Aeron actually worth it, or just overhyped?

Personally really don’t like it. Find the Aeron’s a pretty polarizing chair where half of the office fights over them, half of the office avoids them. You can get equally “ergonomic” chairs from Steelcase or Haworth that will also last a decade without needing to spend quite as much. Personally pref

Need help picking my next chair (budget friendly, <200€).

Go sit on anything local if you can. I had my heart set on an aeron, until I sat one one for a few minutes. It cut into the back of my legs. Then I went to look and a steelcase leap. It was okay but the used store had an Amia.. I really liked that and picked up a very nice used for 125 bucks.
