Starting a hybrid position and could use some suggestions on a chair that will last a few years until I feel I can commit to a $500+ chair
These two or the colamy atlas are the 3 best ''budget'' chairs in my opinion. The staple hyken/dexley are not bad if you're in north america as well (but try them out first at staple, some people love them others hate them).

Is it bad if my desk is way higher than my chair armrest
Yeah bro that's what you need to fix, not the desk lol. My advice is to avoid "gaming" chairs and just buy a mesh office chair. I bought the staples hyken for like 120$ and I've had it for like 5 years. It's overall pretty durable and comfy aside from the cushion at the front that's kinda messed up.

My tailbone hurts
I have had issues with the last few chairs and then got a new one at staples ( hyken ) and has resolved all the chair and sitting issues.

Best office chair on a budget for me - Beating HM Aeron Classic
Idk if you have staples wherever you’re at but the Staples Hyken chair is what I live by. They are 150-160 usd. did anyone try the staple hyken pro, and how do you like it ?
Tested a bunch of chairs in Staples and it was my favorite, second fav was the La-Z Boy Ergonmic Mesh Swivel Task Chair.
