The state of e-ink readers as a technology, and how in some respects, the peak was over a decade ago.

I don't know if I agree with this take. I had the Sony ereader and it was life changing but I wouldn't want to ditch my PW12 for it. I do agree that the front light can cause some issues apropos readability. Just today I had an appointment to put winter tires on and since I vape I sat outside on a b

Should I upgrade from a 15–20 year old Sony eReader to a modern Kindle Basic?

Hey, I started my eReader journey with a Sony PRS-650 in 2011. I loved it very much and used it until it got damaged about 10 years later when I upgraded to a Kindle Paperwhite 7th generation that I got second hand. I recently sold it when its battery got drained within less than a week and upgraded

After 14 years of service, I'm finally replacing my old sony.

all 3 of the sony readers I've picked up recently had good battery life still (prs-300, T1, prs-350). It's really going to be a crapshoot with these old devices. Most you can replace the battery with a little know-how.

Why do some people own multiple ereaders?

Hobbies have become less of a thing you enjoy and become more of a competition in proving you're the most consumptive of said hobby to others. I belong in a few hobby circles and it seems all everyone ever talks about is how much they have, not about actually using any of it it. Think about all the

E reader recs (RANT)

I have an OG Sony e-reader that is still going strong. If you can find one, they don't rely on services- you just upload the epub and read it.

my first ereader! (sony prs-600)

I adore Sony e readers. I have a PRS 300 (or 350 I forget which exact model) I got at a car boot sale for £4 last year with the Sony leather folio (with the inbuilt light) and I finally fitted a new battery in it a month ago. Already on my second book and just adore everything about it. They’re genu

Does anyone else miss Sony Style?

I bought a PRS-300 a year or two ago off ebay for the novelty of it, and I've recently been reading on it a lot more. Mostly for webnovels. - I love the aluminum casing. It feels so solid without a case on it and it doesn't feel like it will slip out of my hands. - I got it for the size and I love i

Suggest a eink device for a 8 th grader

If you could find a Sony Reader PRS-300 from way back in the day with a functional battery (Sony doesn't make that particular battery anymore and it's hit or miss if they can still hold a charge now), I've always said it would be perfect for a kid because it's JUST book, no wifi/internet or games or

Never mind the new hotness, anybody else still e-reading like it's 2007?

Yes!! I have a Sony PRS 300 that I got at a car boot sale last year for £4. Fitted a new battery last week and already read a book on it in full and onto the next! Adore them!

i bought a used Sony e-reader to add to my collection and it's so cool. sony prs 650

Like mine too. Jumped on the old Sony eReader bandwagon and have a PRS 505, PRS 650 and now a PRS 300.. Love them all and all I want is for reading with no distractions. IF you need a case option I can send you a good idea. Cheap on Amazon and with some slight trimming it works great for the 650. Bo
