I want to buy 2x FX Cinema Cameras. But I don't want to record in S-log or Cinetone. Based on this, which one should I go for and does this make me stupid for considering a FX3?
Hey, I’m on fx30 with a rig and audio equipment invested into the ecosystem at this point too— first off congrats for looking into the fx line. They really are special cameras and you can’t go wrong with any of them. First off I’ll explain that s-cinetone is actually just a picture profile preset, w

Convince me to switch
For wedding photography I think you'd be better off keeping the FX30 as your A camera, especially if you rely on autofocus. The main advantage with the BMPCC 4K is the better flexibility for grading: I have an FX30 as well and while the footage is much more flexible than I feared (in terms of adjust

What competitors colour sciences/log profiles integrate well with Slog3?
Don't know exactly if any other brands necessarily "match well" with Slog 3, but if i could make a recommendation I would tell you to consider investing in a Color Chart such as those from X-Rite or Datacolor. I bought a Datacolor SpyderCheckr a couple of years ago and it's AMAZING for getting a goo

Freelancer stuck between Blackmagic and Sony need to replace my broken BMPCC 6K
If you're shooting the BMPCC 6K the more obvious parallel in the Sony world would be the FX 30, not the FX3. It's half the price of the FX3 but same form factor, it's just APS-C instead of full-frame. It has the same cinema features (shutter angle vs. shutter speed, Cine-EI exposure system for shoot

Adventure Cinematography
Yo! I would go a6700. Like you said: 10 bit color so grading is fun. It feels compact but not cheap or anything like that. It has the same sensor as the Fx30 from Sony's cinema line so the footage looks great. It is weather sealed, so while I would still be very careful with it - it's "supposed to"

A7V vs. FX3 for someone who already owns an A7IV
Based on your question, you said you are looking to add a dedicated video/cinema camera with good low-light performance. Personally I think adding the FX3 while also having the A7IV are a great pairing. I have an FX3 + A7CII (released between A7IV and A7V tech), and I like having a dedicated video/c

Canon cameras that compare with Sony FX30 or FX3
Hey, so this is just my opinion and my view points since this post. I went with the r6ii, which I still run with a 24-70, 16-35 and 35 prime depending on shots. I decided to stay canon, because I think Sony has the tech but not the colors (purely just my view) My goal is to eventually add a c70 or,
