Q for Comedians: Best Camera for Shooting Shows? I Made a Mistake.
Here's my current setup: ZVE10 - got it from FB Marketplace 2nd hand for $500. Shoots 4k 30fps. Eye and face tracking is pretty good. Can shoot for 2+ hours just fine without battery swaps if you plug it into a power bank and the internal battery is fully charged. There are some situations when it d

I have the ZV-E10 (Mk 1) & Hollyland Lark M2 which work very well together - never had any issues. The standard 16-50mm kit lens works well - especially when you do talking head video where you can control the lighting (it helps maintain focus). I found that you may want to use manual focus when doi

If you were starting out today and had a goal in mind of having equipment that was budget conscious and would take great video, but wanted to do stuff that was a bit more physical (outdoors, hiking, etc), what would you pick to go into your bag ?
Probably a Sony ZVE10 II and the Sony 18-105 F4 OSS, a VND, some kind of wireless mic, and a tripod. I'm actually quite partial to the Joby 3k / 5k flexible tripods for travel stuff as I do a lot of shoots on hikes where I'm riding my bike to and from the hike, so I really prioritize light weight an

Camera suggestions?
For that budget I'd honestly recommend the Sony ZV-E10 with a good wide angle lens. I've been using it for about a year and it's fantastic for workout content because the autofocus tracks movement really well, which is huge when you're demonstrating exercises. The flip screen makes framing yourself

Obsessed with BlackMagic but I’m a beginner
i made exactly that mistake. i really liked the look of a video someone shot with the blackmagic so i got one. the 4k version. i didnt realize you need to colorgrade and especially there is no autofocus. i was overwhelmed and it took the joy away pretty quickly. that was a couple years ago, and im p

I'm starting to think it's impossible to make a small m43 body with current technology
And smaller sensor should mean everything can be relatively smaller than larger formats, but that's not been the case in recent years. It's likely due to the new stacked sensor needing more heat dissipation regardless of how large said sensor is. Meanwhile Fuji and Sony are able to make newer camera

Beginner filmmaker looking for an affordable camera for short films + photograph
honestly for starting out the Sony ZV-E10 is hard to beat for hybrid work. it gives you that cinematic look without a huge learning curve. another strong option is the Canon R50 which has solid photo features and good video. both are small enough for college and travel. the zv-e10 has better video a

Starting out
Z30 is a good beginner vlogging camera in my opinion. good AF, flip screen. No IBIS or EVF, but that’s fine for vlogging. Alternatives you could consider are Sony ZV-E10 (best AF) or Canon R50.

Thoughts on Sony ZV E-10
Yes, the Sony ZV-E10 is a good buy for what you described. It’s very beginner friendly, has excellent autofocus, and works well for both travel photos and videos. The flip screen and video features make it easy to learn vlogging and basic videography, while still taking good photos. Just keep in min

Sharpness and coloring help
"Focus peaking". It helps, but it can also get in the way when you are using such a small screen. Manual focusing isn't particularly reliable on small screens or cheap screens/low quality monitors. I personally suggest using auto-focus, selecting your subject, and then switching to manual focus. It
