Help buying flash & night shots ?

The ZV E10 II is really not a camera meant for still photography. It lacks a mechanical shutter and only has a flash sync speed of 1/30. For comparison most entry mirrorless cameras have a sync speed of 1/160 to 1/250. Even with a 1/30 shutter a lot of people report issues with flash with the E10 II

Buying my first camera, is Sony ZV-E10 Mark2 good for it?

If your main interest is in photography then the ZV-E10ii is not ideal mainly because it's lacking a mechanical shutter. This means you can't expose more than 30", you may have some issues with light frequency resulting in lines in the photo and you'll loose the romantic shutter sound 😉 Also that ca

Debating on ZV-E10 II or A6700

The ZV-E10II doesn't have a mechanical shutter - so photography with flash or under artificial lighting, especially LEDs, will be seriously compromised. ZV-E10ii’s focus on video means flash function is compromised. A Godox V480-S could be used with HSS (high-speed sync) so you aren’t restricted to 1/30s and slower with flash, but HSS also eats up 2EV (75%) of the light, so it’s compromise. Whatever you look it needs to have enough power to do HSS.

Finally got some time to try out my new camera on trains. All I could say is very impressive.

I do once consider similar alternatives, like the Sony A6700 or the ZV-E10 II, but they are either too bulky and heavy or lack a proper shutter to take photos (The ZV-E10II has a similar size, but lacks a mechanical shutter). So I guess I don’t have really much choice to choose from.
