Most photographers don’t need better gear, they need better taste

I just upgraded from a Sony a7Riii to a7RV and what a difference! I know they aren't the go to for sports but I like motorsports and they do me well at the track while still working great for all the other stuff away from the track. The auto focus alone on the A7RV is worth the upgrade. It picks up

Do you use Tilt/Shift Lenses and if so what focal lengths get used the most?

I have the big 3 Canon TS-E: 17mm, 24mm, and 50mm (Sony a7r III with adapter). For high end real estate the 17mm is the only one I use. For interior design or commercial spaces (like restaurants, hotels, cruise ships), the 24mm is used 90% of the time, with the 17mm used the other 9.99% of the time.

Camera upgrade

Well, you can find a Sony a7r iii relatively cheap. It's a nice mirror less body that is great in low light. The Nikon D4, while not mirrorless, is a great concert body that loves low light. If you find a body you like, reach out to me and I'll give you my thoughts.

Gear that was actually end game for you.

On medium format it was Pentax 645D and than Z. I bought into the Fuji GFX system but don’t click with it. I’m going to sell my GFX 50R and maybe get the 100s or I just ordered a Sony A7R III which is a great upgrade from my 2 original A7’s. Love the A7’s but the better AF and sensor closer to the M

Analogic to digital, what do you advice?

getting a used Full frame mirrorless from a few years ago is probably the way to go, since they are not only generally good options but ideal for adapting your fd lenses. if you want decent autofocus, you can go with an canon r6 or sony a7riii but they wont leave much budget for more lenses, a7iii a

Friendly friday reminder: It’s about light

As thorough as DPReview’s testing can be, real world high ISO shots with raw files aren’t their strong suit. I’ve owned a 5D Mark II until 2021 and I’ve used a Sony a7R III quite a bit in my old job, so I thought I could offer some insight on the noise levels. I would be thoroughly happy with delive

I think the most important aspect of the GoPro 14 is its larger pixel size rather than its video resolution. This is beneficial for shooting in low-light conditions.

you really showed him with the chatgpt overview, as we know that thing is never wrong. It is not like we know that the imx510 exists. Either way, put it all out of your mind, forget it. And now go watch the dpreview video (or read the article) that compares the sony a7siii vs sony a7r iii low light

Sony vs Canon for Hobbyist (Lens Ecosystem Concerns)?

I was just between a used canon R6/7 or Sony. I ended up with a used Sony a7r iii for $1200 with 6800 shutter count. In some ways the canons would be better. Certainly better autofocus. But really what did it for me was that with Sony I can afford to step up my lenses from entry level. And that will

Best camera body for portrait photography

I suggest getting something used, most likely a higher end DSLR or Mirrorless from the late 2010’s to early 2020’s. Consider what lens platform or ergonomics you want. Is size, dial placement, or lens selection a concern for you?General top suggestion would be something with a larger sensor for bett
