Looking at just numbers, it's not worth it. Honestly look at the numbers, $30/hr x 5hrs = $150. The cost of renting from your local camera store, the most newest camera (canon r5 or sony a7siii) is about that much or likely higher. You're basically working for fun or loss.

This is a crap excuse. It’s not that features are stripped. It’s the fact that Sony KNOWS that cameras are getting bricked and crippled. Yet, they are making customers pay for fried motherboards and arguing with them about how ITS NOT their fault. Don’t get me wrong i appreciate them still adding fe

The newer firmware versions can break wireless and audio features on a subset of Sony cameras. These issues have impacted the A7S III, FX3 and other Sony models. Most cameras update without issue. Some do not. It is not a user issue, it's a Sony issue. The impacted cameras work perfectly on the 2.x

It seems that Sony changed key hardware components during production. The newer firmware versions don't fully support cameras with the alt

Menus are for engineers, not photographers. Features are grouped by technical function instead of by task. For example, exposure, drive modes, autofocus, and customization are often separated in ways that feel unintuitive. 2. Way too many layers Menus are very deep. You open a page, then a submenu,

I’ve been burnt twice on A7S3 firmware updates with repair costs at my expense (!!), I’m never touching another firmware update again. It’s not even remotely my fault Sony decided to substitute parts AND write firmware that doesn’t work with all the parts THEY have shipped….

In 5.9k and 6k Open Gate lowlight performance is even better and you can get away even with 25600. Sony and Lumix ISO is different and 12800 on Panasonic is brighter (and sharper) than same iso value on A7S3 or FX3. I agree about 24 mpxespecially with all social media requirments where even 10 megap

Nikon Z8 - the best do-it-all stills and video camera IMO. Sold my a7siii and sony stuff for it. Before that, Canon 5dmk3 + a blackmagic pocket 4k.

For our documentaries and TVC shoots, we mainly use the Blackmagic 6K. For events, we were using the Sony A7S III until one time, during a very busy period, we hired a freelance shooter who brought a Nikon Z6III. We were blown away by how well it handled both outdoor and indoor lighting. After that,

In LA, when I'm being hired out just to be a 2nd or 3rd shooter, they want bare minimum an FX30/FX3 or even A7siii. I don't take these gigs often anymore cause I have an in-house 9-5 job in production. Time is spent better there. When I am in control, I use my GH7s. Lumix actually treats their users
