Full circle, FX3 to S1 II then back to FX3.

This is interesting. I used to have a Sony A7SIII and today I have two S5IIX. For me, aside from the autofocus, everything else is much better on the Lumix, even though it’s considered a “lower” camera. The colors are better and more pleasing. The codec is very easy to work with. Skin tones are bett

Should I upgrade firmware from 2.0 to the newest?

The newer firmware versions can break wireless and audio features on a subset of Sony cameras. These issues have impacted the A7S III, FX3 and other Sony models. Most cameras update without issue. Some do not. It is not a user issue, it's a Sony issue. The impacted cameras work perfectly on the 2.x

Should I upgrade firmware from 2.0 to the newest?

A lot of people are scared because of people saying it bricked there camera. A lot of people are wary, because Sony's 3.x, and 4.x firmware has been disabling wireless connectivity and audio inputs, and reducing autofocus performance. Not bricking. YOU CAN’T JUST SIMPLY JUMP FROM OLDEST UPDATE TO NE

Really struggled with autofocus S5ii

I own Sony A7IV which has little better AF than A7S3/FX3 and it also struggle in condition like this., but even on S1II AF change to (worse) DFD autofocus above 12800.

Sony admits A7S III firmware updates are breaking features

I updated my A7S III to firmware version 3.02 a while back, and it definitely seemed to make autofocus worse with my non-native Sigma 24–70mm lens. Before the update, I could point the camera at almost anything and it would quickly know what to focus on and lock in. After the update, it started stru

Help me decide between Z5II and Z6III please

The Z5ii was not my pick for wedding photography. I mostly left the industry a few years ago, so the camera / lens set I have now (Z5ii / ZFc / Z30 / 24mm F1.8 / 50mm F1.4 / 85mm F1.4 / 16-30mm F2.8 / 24-120mm F4 / 70-300 F4.5-6.3) is mainly for my own projects (videography and photography). I shot

Portkeys 7 LH7C touch to focus

Same problem here. This happens on A7SIII, A7V and FX3. Touch to focus does not work- but touch to tracking does work. The thing is, Portkeys show this feature working on their tutorial videos so I am not sure what's going on here. I updated the firmware but this will be returned if this feature is b

I'm curious about Sony's new camera

Unless you are a tech nerd - what’s the real benefit of buying a new camera? […] But real question is: how can you as a filmmaker benefit? Sony’s latest AI autofocus goes hard. As on ZV-E1. But it’s missing from the FX30, FX3, FX6, and A7S III. You said “filmmaker”, and maybe a lot of that work is s

Will there be FX 3 Mark 2 released in 2026

Fx series under the fx6 isn't really appreciated here as much as youtube filmmaking subs, just because everyone with it thinks they're a cinematographer all of a sudden, it's a rehoused A7siii, a good youtube cam (creator was shot on a boosted prototype, I reported on it when it first came out and t
