Not sure where this fits in…. #sonyfx2
Dead on arrival… 🫤 So I’ve been digging into the upcoming Sony FX2, and I’m honestly struggling to understand who this camera is supposed to be for. It feels like Sony just slapped the A7IV’s guts into a slightly different body, called it “cinema,” and bumped the price up. With an expected price of

Photos from a the frontlines of the Nakba Day Protest in Berlin - May 15 2025
If you want to be on the front line, then you need to be ready to get hit. I don't want to get into details, but being fit, lifting weights and understanding how to plant your feet go a VERY long way. If you fall, you fall. I have mentioned in another comment the amount of "attacks" I have suffered

Help me decide on new camera for portrait and wedding photography - Nikon Z5ii or Sony A7iv
I’ve owned the A7IV previously and the AF is very comparable to the Expeed 7 Nikon cameras (although much worse than the Z8 which I have now). I will say I always found Sony files were the hardest to edit in Lightroom. Nikon files seem to edit the best in my experience (with Canon just behind but ah

Eye focus woes
I had an A7III, and I'm pretty sure there is no bird eye autofocus on that model. The eye focus that's for animals is for animals like dogs and cats, according to Sony. I never really got a chance to test it on animals other than dogs, cats, and birds, but it didn't work on birds and was okay on dog

Is the Z6III right for me?
TL;DR: If you’re coming from a Canon T7 and want pro-level autofocus without the $2,500+ price tag of a Z6 III or A7 IV, the Nikon Z5 II is the move. 1.Better "Brains" than Sony (The AF Argument) While Sony has historically led the AF game, the Z5 II inherited the EXPEED 7 processor from the flagshi

Lumix still an underdog?
Autofocus has improved considerably but Lumix is still behind major brands. The inability to set custom brackets is baffling, especially if you shoot real estate. In order to get +-3 stops you have to shoot 7 pictures which is extremely annoying. The TTL flash performance is slightly sluggish compar

Sony a7 IV Firmware 3.02 Autofocus Tracking Glitch?
Greetings,
On two Sony a7 IV's updated from firmware 3.01 to 3.02, I've experienced an issue where, at random, the autofocus tracking glitches by refusing to track where the Focus Area is. The grey tracking box may jump around or jiggle outside the Focus Area.
Focus Area is set to Tracking: Spot S

Upgrading from EM-5 mk II - How big is the difference between OM-5 and OM-3 really?
I'd also like to add that I also once upgraded from an E-M5 II to an E-M5 III just to have phase-detection AF. Contrast detection is often unreliable, especially in low light. It's also often quite slow. Unfortunately, the E-M5 III disappointed me greatly, as it was just as often wrong (the miss rat

Help me decide on new camera for portrait and wedding photography - Nikon Z5ii or Sony A7iv
All the Expeed 7 bodies have 120hz sampling/calculation rates for the AF, so the stacked sensor itself is not really making a significant difference there in terms of AF speed. The processing is identical as well, save for any small differences in the mode algorithms (i.e. not all bodies have bird A

Is Fujifilm enough for a career in photography?
The XT2 is a great camera and I am sorry that I sold mine. While it is true that the autofocus is better on cameras such as Sony, I never found a problem focusing with the XT2. BTW I liked my Fuji more than my Sony A7Iv
