Best camera body for sports photography/videography $1500-2500 range?
I made a similar post recently and was told used Sony A9 or A9ii would be the best options, but that was photography only. Both A9’s have a stacked sensor which is unique to the flagship models so it’s really good for action shots and high fps. I don’t believe they are the greatest for video though.

What is your dream camera?
Sony Alpha 7R V. But I already have it. So, the FX3A or some other camera for filming. Or maybe the Sony Alpha 9 II, which should also be good for filming (4k120p) and would also be interesting for me for some wildlife photography.

Best hybrid camera (ideally sony)
Over the past 5 years, I’ve gone from a pure photographer, to mainly videographer - with Sony kit. Full time freelance doing events (fitness and wedding), portraits/headshots, social media content, corporate talking head interviews/testimonials etc So have also been on a neverending quest to find th

Anyone moved from a Sony A9 to a Nikon z5ii or ZF?
I have used the A9/A9II some as rentals. Personally I don't think the Z5II will be a much of an upgrade to your A9. The Z5II's electronic shutter will be to slow for hummingbirds and any wing movement. You would need to shoot with the mechanical shutter at 11fps to not have the "rolling shutter" eff

Do you shoot in silent mode? My sensor is too slow for that.
You actually prevented me from upgrading to Sony, thanks! I got the R8 and never noticed rolling shutter issues even though I exclusively shot in electronic shutter mode. I liked the lens choice/price but the Sony bodies are really expensive and got low frame rates unless of course i pay 5x for A9ii

Best SONY Camera for Hybrid sports shooting.
assuming that you are going to shoot sports, since you posted in a sports forum? you want a stacked or global sensor for that, so with sony it's a1, a1ii, a9, a9ii, a9iii. sort this list by "photo" heading, to see the actual readout speeds. https://horshack-dpreview.github.io/RollingShutter/ the r5i

Canon R6iii vs Sony a7v
a1/a1ii: 120 af/ae calcs a second a9/a9ii/a7v: 60 af/ae calcs a second canon will probably be the same difference... the slower readout speeds just don't allow for the same level of af accuracy; with sony it also shows up when using teleconverters, the fully stacked sensor bodies retain full af-c ca

Should I invest in Sony or Canon as a small production company?
I'm a Sony shooter and can vouch for their ecosystem. I have an A7SIII (same tech as the FX3), an A9II and an A7III. I also use the FX3 and the FX6 from time to time. The A7SIII is insanely good in low-light and has one of the best rolling shutter specs in its class. The A7SIII is great as a hybrid
