Am I ready to buy to buy a real camera now ?

bro, where do you live? Those nature pictures are beautiful. Regarding camera, if you're buying second hand, then A7III + 35mm 1.8 is great start

Is one mirrorless body safe?

In 20 years and 1100+ weddings, I needed my backup one time. - when my Sony A7iii shutter went out at 579,000 count during the entrance of a bride at the ceremony. Was it worth carrying a second for 20 years just to have this happen to me one time? HELL YES.

iPhone 15 Pro Max vs Sony A7III

Posted some travel photos recently here from Japan and South Korea and got some comments doubting they were shot on iPhone 😅 So thought it would be interesting to do a quick comparison. Tried to find the most similar shots I had across both my iPhone 15 Pro Max and Sony A7III with matching editing.

iPhone 15 Pro Max vs Sony A7III

You can definitely see much better performance of the A7III in the low light city shot, but the iPhone is doing an incredible job overall!

I captured the comet Lemmon with my mirrorless camera

C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) captured with my usual and modest astromodified a7III at 600mm. By pure chance, I was able to try the Sony 200-600mm a couple of nights ago. My intention was to make a few tests, to shoot Andromeda, Orion, and the Pleiades just to see how they look at 600mm, and I thought of givin

A7V released - 33MP partially stacked, 7.5 stop IBIS, new processor, $2900 USD - available for preorder

Changes from IV as gridded out on DPReview. 0.2 inch bigger back screen with twice the resolution. 2m vs 1m dot. Mildly updated body and grip. Doesn't get the more tilted shutter button from current A1 and A9 though Full tilting and flippy screen. Replaced the "multi terminal" micro USB port with an

24 fps as a “sacred cow” isn’t 30 fps more practical for social media?

Man, what a time to be alive. Any time this conversation comes up, I'm instantly brought back to my childhood bedroom circa 2002. I spent countless hours searching the internet, doing whatever I could to find out how to make MiniDV footage that came from my Sony VX-2000 look like it was shot on film

Thinking of getting my fiancé a Sony A7 II, will he be happy with it?

I’m just going to answer this honestly because I think that’s what you want, he will likely be appreciative but disappointed. There’s a big jump between the a7ii and the a7iii. Can you get a used a7iii somewhere online that would be closer to your budget? I’d be willing to bet he would be happier wi

HELP! 1080p Footage looks blurry and washed out. What do I need to improve next time? Is the high ISO the reason?

lessons learned: Shoot 4K even if your final video will be 1080p. Downscaled video looks a lot sharper and also denoised. 1080 footage looks horrible on those cameras. You should have tried it. Also bitrate is not enough to handle wide shots as far as I remember. (but I'm not sure if a7iii shoots 50
