HLX is plenty good IMO, i recently had the new Sig foxtrot msr, the switch is much nicer and is surefire compatible, but i still find myself wanting to use tailcap switch instead. HLX is much brighter despite their spec being similar. Ended up going back to streamlight.

Light for short rail
I have an Sig Foxtrot MSR Compact on my JAKL-9. It takes up only a little MLOK space and doesn’t stick out too far. The pressure pad does suck though.

Light set ups?
Looks very much like my MOB, lol. I'm even running the same Arisaka indexer. I haven't finalized my setup, but I'm currently running a SIG Foxtrot MSR Compact on the right side with a Unity Hot Button on the top of the rail. It's OK, but not optimal as the Kuna is so small. The Arisaka indexer does

Alternative tape switches
I got a $17 knockoff SR07. It works but visibly drops the brightness of both the M951 and Foxtrot MSR I tried it with.
