From my own experience/collection: Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro would be my top choice for your purpose. One of the most comfortable closed headphones out there for extended use. Personally, I still use the Sennheiser HD 410's I bought in 1983. However, my 410's use foam ear pads, so there can be some bleed over when using them in the studio. Given that, if I were to recommend a set of headphones for recording and general playing, it would be the Sennheiser 280. Decent price

Toxicity, no skips I also happen to have HD 280 Pro headphones from Sennheiser that have fantastic noise isolation, so that helps on top.

Sennheiser HD 280s I found them to have just as much isolation as the Vic Firths but more comfortable and better sounding. The only thing I dislike is the curly cable.

Headphones: I'd recommend Sennheiser HD280 Pro. They're $90-100, very isolating, and pretty neutral sounding. Mic wise, you might want to consider a ribbon microphone? There are good affordable options from Cascade mics, like the Fat Head.

Take it from someone who has (and enjoys) the HD 280 Pros: A pair of cheap in-ears will certainly get you better isolation and perfectly adequate sound reproduction for a fraction of the price. You can literally get the KZ ZSN Pro for $25 on Amazon and it will probably sound better than any $150+ ca
