If you boot Proxmox from an SSD, disable these two services to prevent wearing out your drive
i boot from Samsung 970 pro SSD it still has 97% life after 2+ years i did nothing special in terms of logs etc these articles came from a set of scaremongering reddit and forum posts from mainly one individual also people confuse their samsung drive issues with proxmox issues (there was a particula

Using Windows as Virtual Machine on Linux
Yes, it seems today, the minimal optimal amount of RAM is 32GB, even the for DDR5 type, for gaming & other intensive computing tasks. At the same time, pricing has been insane, I was one of those who bought both 32 & 64GB 6000 M/T kits of the latest when prices dropped, well before Micron exited the

Man!! I should have tried Dolphin a long time ago! No diss Nemo but goodbye...
The lack of RAM shouldn’t be an issue for me, am currently running 64GB of DDR5-6000 M/T, CL 30, on an ASRock 670E Steel Legend with Ryzen 7 9700X & still using my 512GB Samsung 970 PRO NVMe SSD, even though I have a 1TB Samsung 9100 PRO waiting. Didn’t change the SSD because it still has over 80% l

Is the Samsung 990 Pro SSD better than the WD Black SN850X?
🤦... Tell me you don't know SSD's without telling me... 🙄 Consumer SLC SSD's literally DO NOT EXIST, and haven't for around a DECADE AND A HALF!!! (Since Samsung's 470 Series SATA SSD's from literally 2010!!!...) And even consumer MLC SSD's haven't existed for nearly a decade now too! (The Samsung 9

ssd nesse estado aí
Puxa, 1200 TB é muito até. Não sabia que tinha SSD pra consumidor com TBW tão alto. Pior que verifiquei e o meu é 1200 TB também (Samsung 970 Pro)

[Level1Techs] 256TB in a Single SSD Is Real, and It's Coming to Consumers
I mean, let's take a simple example. The latest and greatest Samsung 9100 Pro 1 TB has TBW of 600, while the 970 Pro 1 TB has TBW of 1200. The sustained write speed for the 9100 Pro is 1.8 GB/s while the 970 Pro will maintain its rated write speed of 2.7 GB/s indefinitely. The max random speed of th

[Level1Techs] 256TB in a Single SSD Is Real, and It's Coming to Consumers
I'm not citing some sort of obscure study, the easiest way to check this is to the spec sheet for the Samsung 970 Pro and compare it to the 980 and 990 Pro. The switch from Planar to 3D nand in manufacturing basically brought TLC back to being viable again. A few years into it TLC was the essentiall

[Level1Techs] 256TB in a Single SSD Is Real, and It's Coming to Consumers
My experience is the opposite of what you said. I have one SK 512 GB TLC SSD with TBW of 288 TB but it died at 40 TB written. I bought an WD SN850X and it showed the same symptoms (random freezes, disconnects) a few months after buying, like WTF? Maybe that's just unlucky but I feel like the TLC one
