That's a very high price for the drive imo.
There's 2 other options below.
Reminder that this is a working/living list that aims to include as many tried and tested NVME options for the Steam Deck. They're sorted from best to worst value. Again, these have all been confirmed and are a di

I didn't add a heatsink, the thermal tape was working fi

So I'm in the same situation with a suddenly slow Rocket 4 Plus 4TB, and I've tried the linked R4PB47.5 "reinitial" tool. However, it just stops with a message of "Capacity And Model Name Not Match." I'm not exactly sure why. FWIW, I asked Gemini, and it seems to think it's because the drive is moun

The Legend 860 uses QLC flash, which has low durability and becomes noticeably slower after a few years, so it should not be used as the OS drive. Get a better drive with TLC flash like the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus or Kioxia Exceria Heatsink.

I went back/forth with Sabrent on this (firmware utility failure) and ultimately their tech folks said to send the drive in to them to do it. If you're comfortable being without the drive for a few weeks maybe that's an option for you. The corsair MP600 Pro XT has the exact same hardware as the Sabr

that's a steal for 8tb, sabrent's actually one of the better brands for nvme drives, their rocket 4 plus is pcie 4.0 and uses decent flash the price is low cause 8tb ssds have been dropping lately not cause it's bad, i'd grab it before someone else does

Sabrent is a respectable brand, and the Rocket 4 Plus is a high-end drive with DRAM cache. At the moment, a new 8 TB drive would be about $1300. A discount of 50% is reasonable for a used drive. Nobody knows whether the seller can be trusted.

Setup looks amazing. My only concern is the mp600. I had 2 units long time ago , not the same but it was same model for shure, after a while the writes speed where below 1000MBytes/s. I returned 2 units and got sabrent rocket 4 plus and lexar 790 all perfect read and writes around 7000Mbytes/s. Rest

My recommendation would be moving to a B-series motherboard if you don't need the features the X will give you. Specifically pointing out the Gigabyte B650I AORUS ULTRA Mini ITX (B850i is kinda worse for more money sooo). It's $70 cheaper, has 1x more M.2 slot, drops Wifi 7 for Wifi 6E. For the regu
