HX machines: constant overheating or overblown issue?
HX machines have to manage a 50°F/30°C temperature drop from the steam boiler temperature to brew temperature. That's a tall order and none do it perfectly. Traditional HX machines such as the OG Rocket Appartamento (not the new TCA version) tend to overheat while idling, and need a cooling flush pr

OWL G3006 a good choice?
I've had one since they were originally dropped, hasnt given me a single issue and has proven to be more reliable than my Rocket Appartamento.

Super-Manual recommendations [$500 - $1000]
One of the La Spaziale machines (also sold in the US as Lucca A53) would be a great machine for your truck. If you are lucky and can find one used, it would cost about the same as an Appartamento and could then be used in your truck. Don't get hung up on Rocket. There are lots of great used machines

[Help] Rocket Appartamento Nera Overheating (1.75 Bar) – Safety Switch Tripped Twice
Hello, So, theres is a forum in home-barista addressing this particular issue with a ton of recommendations. However this part is a consumable part and very documented to fail. I do not recommend cleaning it since is already failing and is a safety-regulating part why put in risk your safety? How di

Buying a New Machine [$2,000]
Out of that list I'd go with the Profitec and would also look at the the ECM Classika or Mechanika. Have had both in various offices and they're fantastic, super reliable machines. As far as I know ECM and Profitec use the same or very similar components, but ECMs are slightly better built/have nice

Rancilio Silvia Pro X vs Ascaso Steel Duo PID [$2000]
Not exactly true because the boiler size plays a role as well as the general construction of the machine. If there’s more mass to heat up, it will take longer. The Linea Micra needs like 5 minutes if I remember correctly and something like the Rocket Appartamento will be close to 30 minutes.

It's awesome, it's the best value in terms of functionality for the price by a lot. Of course it doesn't feel as sexy as a Rocket Appartamento, but it's either or

Which of machine should I get? [€1500]
I think if you aren’t wanting to go double boiler (I think they are a little more expensive outside of your budget, but double check) I have seen the lelit Mara X recommended, and if you can afford the lelit Elizabeth that’s even more recommended. I’m in the same boat and ultimately made the choice

Would I regret buying a Micra? (A drama story)
I used to have a rocket Appartamento, and I honestly regret spending the extra money on the Micra. The shot quality is not worth the extra 2k. Just to note, I mainly drink milk based drinks. But even drinking only espresso, the taste is not much better. If I could go back in time, I would have upgra

Which one would you pick? (Appartamento vs. Pro 500) [$1600 CAD]
I don't think there's any objective reason to choose the Appartamento over the Pro 500. The PID isn't really all that useful with a HX machine but it is better than a pressure stat. You do still need to flush with the Pro 500, it's pretty equivalent to the Rocket Giotto/Mozzafiato that I have, I hav
