Reolink or Dahua

I bought wireless Reolink cameras (E1 Zoom, TrackFlex), as it'd be cost prohibitive to drag PoE. It's a bloody mess with Frigate. There are all sorts of encoding issues and I'm having to do software re-encoding for it to work. Also, the Frigate-based autotrack doesn't work. The cameras themselves ar

Ok this is terrible

Night vision and detection is great. We use one of them as a nursery cam and it catches every little movement of our 7 month old (sensitivity turned all the way up on purpose). Here is a list of issues we had with Eufy: Constant and by constant I really mean constant disconnections when trying to ke

Frequent Error Screens and Web Page Decline

I have two Reolink E1 (Zoom and Pro), Eufy wifi floodlight PTZ, and a Amcrest Wifi Doorbell. Some are super stable, some are not. I have Unifi U6 APs with nothing under -60Db, my wifi is rock solid. Some of the wired cameras are not stable too. The problem doesn't split on the wifi/wired divide

Looking for a budget IP camera that doesn't need internet access in 2024

Update on reolinks and tapos that I have bought (also updated the main post): In addition to 2 reolinks duo I've got 4 x Tapo C200. Experience so far: Reolinks have been awesome, having the internet access blocked never skipped a beat with their smart detect and all the rest of functionality. Even f

Wi-Fi security camera that I can manage from home server?

The typical recommended brand for privacy focused cameras is Reolink. They have a number of WiFi cameras. I recently got a few E1 Zooms to use with Frigate (over RTSP) and they work pretty well. I've seen some complaints about poor RTSP performance for some models, forcing you to use HTTP streams in

Why can't we just program anything to do exactly what we want?

the camera is a reolink the model is an E1 zoom, also I wanted to know how should i ''connect to the cam'', like usually i set it up with a qr code and now in an app i can access the footage online but i guess we need more of a direct connection to the computer and im not sure how to do so. If u nee

I'm using Securiton as my home security system and I am not happy.

For the indoor cameras, I keep them wired into the mains, so there’s no need to recharge them every 6 to 8 weeks. In terms of connectivity they use an internal SD card for recording and you can connect them to your WiFi and your phone. The doorbell camera is wireless, but that one does need charging

Frigate + go2rtc on Dual Intel GPUs (Arc B580 + UHD 770): Can’t Get iGPU Transcoding Working with Reolink H.265 (B580 does object detection(

Reolink and Frigate have been nightmares for me. The Reolink cameras seem to have broken frame sequencing, so I have to transcode my streams. I have them working, but only through a lot of grief (and my E1 Zooms only operate at 1440p). My NVR is running on a GMKtec M3 Ultra (Intel Core i7-12700H wit

Current Status of the E7. Is it safe to buy now?

Just got one and it has been a nightmare with one Reolink camera I have, the E1 Zoom. This thing keeps disconnecting them like non-stop while my old U6 Pro was rock solid.

indoor camera for specific use

Look into Reolink Home Hub Pro with a E1 Zoom Camera. The Home Hub Pro can be upgraded to up to a 16TB hard drive to get a lot of storage. The camera can be plugged into power if needed but connects to the hub through WiFi. The hub and the camera must travel together though if you want to take it so
