I used to like Remarkable, but time to move on?
Reasonable take. I moved on from them after the paper pro release but I’ve paid attention to see what comes as the true remarkable successor. I think the pure is a great iterative device that does improve over the rm2 if the rm2 didn’t already exist, but it being the successor to the rm2 after six y

reMarkable Connect subscription price is going up by 30% from Dec 21st
They changed the 100 days to 50 days at the end of October, so the first new 50 days would end on that exact date, 21 December. Something is going on there. Edit: I am afraid the grandfathered users will be also affected by this. If they justifies the increase of the price on “added value” to the su

Which tablets are good for note taking for South African students?
You might want to look at digital notepads. Remarkable Paper Pro gets great feedback. Amazon also has a Kindle Scribe. These are not cheap and I've not used them myself, but people seem to love them, especially the RmPP.

Remarkable for novel writing + scrivner
Hey! I used the RM2 for 1.5 novels, but then switched to a Note Air 4C. The best feature on the RM was the endless scrolling, which gives you endless space to plot out scenes/chapters, or create diagrams. The type folio also allows you to type into a notebook, which you could convert into a pdf. The

Is it worth it?
Is it worth it? if you mean the cost, no. the rM2 costing $569 on Amazon for the package including a canvas cover and pen is, frankly, insane when you could have a lot more functionality and a better writing feel for a lot less money. same goes for the Paper Pro at $679 for a tablet and pen bundle w

I just saw info about the new Remarkable tablet, and was tempted until...
Btw , it’s a company that generated profits in 2025. So you have to see layoffs as a profitable layoff or a sort of Pivot. Obviously sales are not as great as they thought, but they are still ‘fine’. My guess is that one of the reasons of going ‘plastic’ in this new rM Pure has more to do with cost

Should have also included B&W version for RMPP Move?
If they made a grayscale version and sold it for around $200 Quoting u/beyondbase because it is the key discussion point IMO. Miniaturization is NOT as cheap as some think - the Boox Palma 2 is $269USD and it doesn't support writing! So a "RM2 Mini" would likely cost $399 (bare minimum $349)... for

Its official, Paper Pro Move
The Move, 2, PP should realistically be priced at like $200, $200, and $250-$300 to be consumer friendly for what the consumer gets. As the commenter your replied to said, these gadgets are definitely twice the price they should be. And of course the accessory prices are truly insane. I just cracked

Remarkable is remarkable
I use it extensively just to rekindle my love for drawing, and it's the only one that "nails" the drawing feeling for me, noone of the other products ever did that, I had so many tablets, gathered dust fast. ReMarkable PP is the only one that actually manages to work as an actual sketchpad with an e

Is the PP what I need?
I mean, sure, it's 100$ more than the Paper Pure, but look at the price of the Paper Pro, its Remarkable competitor. If you don't need color, boox has many options for you to choose, in better prices, with more features. I'm not trying to advertise for them, but I hate how Remarkable advertises so a
