This App Warns You if Someone Is Wearing Smart Glasses Nearby

“Name Tag,” as the feature is called, would let smart glasses wearers identify people and get information about them from Meta’s AI assistant, the report said. Is there any benign use for such a feature? It's like they're deliberately marketing this thing to stalkers.

Meta won’t let morality get in the way of a product launch

"The Ray-Ban Meta glasses are sleek, unobtrusive wearables with front-facing cameras and a passthrough display in the right lens that can show maps, texts, social media posts, and more. Name Tag is a new feature that uses facial recognition to identify people you see in real life through the glasses

Someone secretly recorded a person with a smart glass and humiliated her.

I was given a pair of rayban meta’s as a work freebie. What a crock of shit, and that’s ignoring the clear nonce aspect of things. sod all battery life, will not pair with anything unless it’s zuckerburg approved. it has to be actively paired to a phone to do anything. you can look at, say, a painti

Microsoft says Copilot is for entertainment purposes only, not serious use — firm pushing AI hard to consumers and businesses tells users not to rely on it for important advice

This is a such a cop out and completely disrespectful to the victims of these products. Daniel was an experienced software architect who held a leadership role at a large financial services company, where he’d worked for more than 20 years. In 2022, he leveraged his family’s finances to realize a pa

Ochelari Smart?

Salut!

Technologically and scientifically speaking, how close are we to the blind person’s equivalent of a cochlear implant?

I have the meta AI glasses, while it's current form is extremely lacking, the AI is quite dumb and gives false answers way too often for me to consider it a decent aid. However, I can easily see this tech advancing to the point where it could be a cheaper, non surgical route to aiding the blind. I k

Now that 2026 is here I have a couple of questions for y'all

Totally agree but I kinda feel like Meta is not prioritizing this which does make sense considering there's less number of these compared to regular Rayban or Oakley Metas. I was hoping around Christmas we'd get a big update but it looks like we gotta wait

Oakley Meta Vanguard Charging Case Stuck - Won't Charge Any Higher, Need Help!

That worked perfectly for me I was having the same issue recently and I only had got them 2 months ago. I had to do it with the plug in at the same time it blinks blue then white and my case went from the stuck 13% to the actual 100%. Meta support sucks and the constant updates make your device act

Weekly Thread: Project Display

I’ve been experimenting with something over the past few weeks: what if instead of pulling out my phone every time, I could just talk to an AI assistant through my glasses? So I built a setup using Ray-Ban Meta glasses where: I can ask questions about what I’m looking at get answers back instantly v

Wearable Access Toolkit now available!

Exciting news! but from the doc: Hardware requirementsCurrently, the SDK supports Ray-Ban Meta (Gen-1 and Gen-2) and Oakley Meta HSTN. You can test with a simulated device using Mock Device Kit, or directly with a device. Maybe display will need to wait a bit?
