Old Rancilio Silvia. Tough question really. It was a good test of “do you really want to make espresso at home?” but it needed several pieces replaced in short order and I would think there are more beginner friendly machines on the market.

That looks like a Silvia V1, so that seems really expensive to me, if it isn’t because you want that specific model. Personally I’d skip it, unless you can fix any issues with it yourself and you’re ready to sink the money into it.

If getting a portafilter, keep in mind the Silvia does not have a standard E61 group head. Specific Silvia PFs fit only. Made that mistake. Got the Rancilio bottomless one in the end because the other Rancilio didn't fit (that was for E61, the lips are bigger and hence won't fit). You need at the mi
