Lets share some British products and services that we might not know about.
Q Acoustics is a British audio speaker design company, a little pricy, but well reviewed. I really like their M20 USB/bluetooth speakers, which are equally adept at being your living room TV speakers as they are at giving your PC some proper hifi audio.

Is the Ortofon Bronze for $350 worth it for my setup?
Get better speakers first. Edifiers are very low end. Look at least at something like Q Acoustics M20 instead.

Underwhelming upgrade š
Yes, the micro line stylus are sensitive to misaligned VTAs. So, playing around and testing with different spacers might help. Alignment in general should be double checked. The difference between a 2m red and a VM 540ML should be noticeable (not by getting more pops) Also, I have to say, the q Acou

What's my next upgrade that makes the most sense
Speakers, with a caveat. Your JBLs are nearfield monitors. If you do all of your music listening sat at a desk then for the money, these aren't bad. There's a bit of a hump in the midrange, but otherwise they're fairly neutral. Being nearfield monitors makes it more difficult to create that 3D sound

Should I buy this set up?
If you are in the UK, have a £300 budget for speakers, and are committed to a TT> Active speakers system, buy the Q Acoustics M20 speakers. They are more of a multi-purpose amplification system. Add a cheap streamer from Wiim, and you have everything and great sound. Look at Richer Sounds or Amazon

Advice on active Speakers (first setup)
Definitely not the Klipsch. But I donāt know anything about those Triangle speakers. Maybe consider something like the Q Acoustics M20 HD) instead.

About to buy Audio-Technica LP 120X US. Change my mind (or tell me I am right).
I run my deck straight into Q Acoustics M20, which works for me in terms of versatility. https://www.whathifi.com/reviews/q-acoustics-m20 I listen to a lot of sub bass heavy music and am now very tempted to get a sub woofer for them to add a bit of weight to the bottom end.

First turntable
Fluance RT85 is great...but just be aware the Nagaoka cartridge lifespan is like 250 hours and you're gonna be replacing that. If you wanna save money initially and upgrade the Rt82 is essentially the same table minus the acrylic platter and an ortofon om10 instead of the 2m Blue. You can always loo

Speakers for turntable (overwhelming)
You definitely can't get futureproof powered speakers for 250 new. That said, you can get plenty of great sound for that budget. If your budget is ~ā¬250, a small amp + passive speakers will usually beat powered speakers in sound quality. Powered sets like the Q Acoustics M20 HD or Edifier R2000DB ar

Rega Planar 1 Plus, paired with The Sevens - regrets?
I bought a Rega P1+ recently paired with some Q Acoustics M20 speakers and have zero regrets: no fuss setup; minimal wires; sounds great. I do plan to āupgradeā to the Carbon Pro elliptical stylus at some point but that barely costs more than a new double LP would run me. I quote āupgradeā because I
