Speakers for turntable (overwhelming)

You definitely can't get futureproof powered speakers for 250 new. That said, you can get plenty of great sound for that budget. If your budget is ~€250, a small amp + passive speakers will usually beat powered speakers in sound quality. Powered sets like the Q Acoustics M20 HD or Edifier R2000DB ar

Speaker pairing help

Klipsch probably wouldn’t be most peoples first choice options. (Treble levels are going to be elevated, etc..) Personal opinions would heavily come into play for those. Maybe check out the Q Acoustics M20 HD (SECRETS of Home Theater and High Fidelity review).

Opinions on Rega System One bundle

I recently bought a Rega Planar 1+ (built in preamp) and Q Acoustics M20 powered speakers from Doug Brady Hi-Fi for quite a lot less less than that £999 and am very happy with the results. Holy crap- what do I do now?

Why not go for active speakers with a phono preamp built in (ex. Argon Audio Fenris 4)? Or something like Q Acoustics M20 HD with a Fosi Audio Box X2 Phono Preamp would serve you well for a long time.

Can good speakers save crappy turntable?

Will it sound better? Yes. But then the speakers will show you how bad the turntable is. It will ruin your records. Think of driving a truck through a slalom course. Help a newbie out!

Budget, space, new, second hand, so many other questions. For a basic set up of turntable, phono stage pre-amp, powered or active speakers there are some nice bundles stores do that look good (smart, vintage, retro, just nice) and perform well. Rega Planar 3. Has been good for decades. Rega will ser

Speaker setup for open livingroom/kitchen/dining area

That’s somewhat of a large area to cover. Therefore cheap small speakers might not be optimal. Also HifiBerry amplifier boards probably aren’t going to provide enough power for the space. Here’s ASR review of HifiBerry Amp60. It’s not in HifiBerry’s catalog anymore, but the current Amp2 and Amp4 hav
