Best Adjustable Dumbbells Set?

They DO all have tradeoffs - you just have to figure out what tradeoffs you're willing to make and what aligns with your personal preferences. I have a preference for the powerblock Pro 100s, but they're expensive, bulky, and have that cage design which are all real downsides and I don't often recom

First time building a home gym

This is a nice potential setup. A few small suggestions: If you’re going with Rogue plates, I’d suggest the Echo V2 bumpers. The mil spec ones are so thick that they are harder to handle and they eat up a ton of collar space. The Echo V2s also don’t have any unpleasant offgassing. I’d also suggest t

What are the best adjustable dumbbells for a home gym?

powerblocks are an excellent value - especially the older Powerblock EXPs with the red markings. extremely quick to adjust weights and feel tough as hell. it doesn’t have any mechanical moving parts that can break.

Budget Adjustable Dumbbells?

For all that money you can get a 10-80lb Eisenlink set ($500) which is indestructible or catch the regularly occuring sale of nearly indestructible 90lb powerblocks ($500). 50lb Eisenlinks are like $350, and 50lb powerblocks are $250 when on sale. Both have their pros and cons, I went with Eisenlink

Blessed by the best

$1/lb for urethane or any Powerblocks is indeed a steal. Powerblock will provide free replacement stickers also. And the “Pro EXP” plates are compatible if you’d like to expand

Which adjustable dumbbell?

I've had Powerblock pros and Repins. If you've got the cash, Repins feel amazing. Absolutely love them. But it's true powerblocks can fill the same role for much less $. To that end, I wouldn't buy new powerblocks. They last forever and since they've been around for a while you can get a great deal

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of January 30, 2026

Powerblock EXPs routinely go on sale on Woot and can save you a few hundred when looking at the 90lb set. The PROs might be more resistant to dropping and overall wear, but for that price, you're almost better off going with a premium brand like Nuobells, Rep Pepins, or even Ironmaster. In my experi

Individual dumbbells or all in one?

We’ve used powerblocks for years and I also workout at the gym and use dumbbells there, too. I don’t mind the powerblocks at all. They are a sound substitute

Individual dumbbells or all in one?

A friend of mine invited me over for a workout and had the powerblocks pro 50. I was sceptical at first but they are well constructed and sturdy pieces of equipment. I was surprised. He had the kettle bell attachment and the ez bar attachment. I know they are a little pricey... But I would say if yo
