Help required - Gift for my other half
We currently use a yamaha RX-V793 with a ENERGY ESW-8 sub and some small ENERGY speakers for our tv. Can any of this be repurposed? Yes, do this for better sound. You can now or later replace two of the small (2", 2.5" or 3") Energy satellite passive speakers with a pair of better larger 5.25" or 6.

First setup
Would love to hear ideas on how to gradually upgrade it! The good turntable, cartridge and stylus are already higher quality than the speakers so you are set there! If you ever do want to upgrade anything then start with a step up from the entry level 4" speakers for the most improvement in sound qu

For which turntable? Prices have increase from 4 years ago.... Better Onkyo stereo receiver with built in phono preamp https://www.adorama.com/ontx8220.html The Wharfedale speakers seem to have gone up by $50 to $70. my new audio set up
Are you using 4" Edifier powered speakers with a stereo receiver that is meant to power passive speakers? If you want to keep using the powered speakers then you could replace the large stereo receiver with a small phono preamp. $22 Bozak may be similar quality to the one in the stereo receiver. $49

Fluance RT80 Stylus
Small 4" Edifier R1280T are the bare minimum basic entry level speakers so if you are looking for better sound then upgrade to better and often larger speakers first or at the same time as the stylus upgrade. What are the room dimensions? Onkyo stereo receiver https://www.adorama.com/ontx8220.html P

I've got a Hitachi Ht-41S. How bad do I need to upgrade?
The Yamaha NS-6390 speakers are basic entry level. I think they may have sold around $150 down to $75 when on sale a bunch of years ago. The decent Hitachi HT-41S turntable with a good elliptical tip stylus is more than good enough for the basic speakers. Generally if you are looking to spend $300 o
