pocketbook verse (pro) vs clara bw vs other recs?

Verse Lite is just a worse Verse, just forget about it (smaller battery, no buttons, no SD card slot, no warm colour temperature, also not waterproof - as the standard Verse isn't). Portablility: all devices in discussion are 6" devices, there's no difference in portability (Kobo Clara BW is slightl

Verse Pro battery life expectations

Turn it off. Standby battery draw seems to be relatively high on PocketBooks. Also is boot-time from off-state relatively fast, I guess it's about 6-7 seconds on a Verse, and you can additionally set the last page opened in your currently read book as boot logo. So you will be able to jump very fast

I can't decide which ereader to buy

Look into the Pocketbook. I haven't used their 7" Era, but the 6" Verse Pro is really nice. I just ordered a like-new one from Amazon for $130 US. The Era has side buttons which you said you didn't want, but the Verse Pro doesn't. I like how sturdy and premium it feels. The screen is really crisp, t

BOOX Go 6 vs PocketBook Verse vs Kobo Clara BW

Big fan of the pocketbook verse pro (I have the color). It can be a bit laggy sometimes, although I don't know if that's because of the colorscreen or not.The freedom of easily adding books to this device either through its native store or buying it somewhere else and uploading it to the cloud, is r

BOOX Go 6 vs PocketBook Verse vs Kobo Clara BW

If you want a pure ereader, spend just a bit more and get the Verse Pro BW. You can sometimes find them at a discount on Amazon in used like new condition from pocketbook store, unless you really need the SD card. I find Pocketbook Cloud pretty much eliminated the need for extra on device storage fo

Undecided about buying a Verse Pro

You can only answer this for yourself. Verse Pro indeed has an older screen tech, so the contrast is lower compared to the Kobo Clara BW. But you (likely) don't have a Kobo Clara BW, so against what will you compare it without also having a Kobo Clara BW? You can only decide for yourself how importa

Going from Kindle to Pocketbook for large PDFs/scans

The only issue is the format in itself, so PDF. I recently tested a 8mb PDF from archive.org for a user here, and it crippled my Verse Pro - on the other hand did I test a high quality 500mb PDF I created myself, and it ran almost as well as an epub. Are you sure that you can change font in reflow-m

Question for Possible Pocketbook owner

If you want something that is not sluggish and has a backlight, look at mid-range models like PocketBook Verse Pro. It is lightweight, smooth for EPUBs, and has adjustable SMARTlight. If you prefer bigger device, go for InkPad models.

Ancient Sony ereader PDF handling seems better than some modern ereaders? Is that evidence that I should buy one for cheap?

Did something similar, but manually to a PDF that run like crap. I just converted the PDF to high quality images (more to prove a point than to make a small, well running PDF), and created out of these high quality .png images a new PDF. Size went up from 8mb to more than 100mb, but time to flip pag

PocketBook vs Kobo vs Kindle (real opinions only)

Kindle and Pocketbook Ease of use -> I want to say Kindle is easier to use but that's probably a bias since I started with Kindle first. Pocketbook isn't harder to use, just sometimes I have problems remembering what gestures get me where since Kindle is so deeply ingrained. I will say the filtering
