It’s very possible. At least that was my issue. I did try before to push harder but figured I break it and it seemed seated. I also think the format deal is key as well. I used the pny cs900 because the handful of micro sd I had were them and they worked good. Unlike this lexar one I bought on amazo

Installing it physically is pretty easy, if you are on ps3 slim you really can't get it wrong, and if you do that's actually impressive, just like putting a cube into a square hole I'd recommend watching mrmario yt video, he covered the subject to update all the stuff correctly on a already jb ps3 A

As for the failing hard drive, the PNY 500 gb ssd runs about $30.00 at Best Buy or on Amazon. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/pny-cs900-500gb-internal-ssd-sata/6385542.p?skuId=6385542 That’s about as inexpensive of an option I would go with. Samsung 500gb is around $55 Should be able to find a video on

PYN CS900 2tb. I went with this because Wally World had it on sale for $135. It has been working for 2 months no problem and it was detected immediately

I was about to write a long comment again but need to ask you .What games you play , and do you have money lying around ? Upgrades are nice but not always are worth it . For the SSDs , prices are going up id pick any ~1 TB of Kingston, Crucial,Samsung. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/x83mP6/pny-cs9

I've used crucial mx500, crucial bx500, pny cs900 and sandisk ssd plus in ps2, ps3, ps4 and xbox 360 and they have all been great and still going strong after a few years. Just get whichever is cheaper and you'll be fine.

I have that same one just different type. Mine is 20AQ. I use a pny cs900 500gb ssd and it runs fine with Linux, hackintosh and windows. Get a sata ssd and a charger and it will serve you well for years to come.
