Mast climbing with a GriGri
Self belaying is not an approved use of a grigri. There are some climbers that go against the recommendation, but they know the techniques and equipment well enough that they wouldn't have had to ask your question years before they do it. Don't kill yourself with a grigri. Petzl makes equipment for

GriGri vs. ClickUp: Why does the GriGri remain the default for beginners when the ClickUp feels more intuitive to me?
Grigris are more versatile, especially for multipitch and self-rescue situations. Grigris can belay directly off the anchors, be used for a haul, rappel, or ascend a rope. The CT Clickup can’t belay off anchors and can’t as easily ascend a rope if you rappel past anchors or need to rescue a leader.

Weekly Question Thread (aka Friday New Climber Thread). ALL QUESTIONS GO HERE
This question comes up twice a year, every year, probably based on course schedules. Climbing gear, especially belay devices, are pretty much optimized. Edelrid spent lots of time and money with people with decades of experience designing climbing gear and was able to make the pinch, which by popula

Looking for a carabiner for Mega Jul 2 and GriGri, can I have some help? Also, I have a couple inquiries about belay devices.
Edelrid Bruce for the mega jul 2, any small offset D for the Grigri. You do not want to use an HMS. Petzl suggests the sm'd

Mast climbing with a GriGri
Petzl has not certified the Grigri for that application. Hence the giant lack in the Grigris instructions on how to use it for rope access.

Mast climbing with a GriGri
Petzl has an article on using a grigri for ascending a rope. Obviously you need the correct training to do so safely. If you just mean approved use based on context and not application, then sure. They have other devices designed for “rope access”. https://www.petzl.com/INT/en/Sport/Ascending-a-rope

Carabiners
Grigri just needs one carabiner. Lots of people buy weirdo anticrossload carabiners, but honestly the petzl SmD does very well and avoids the usual issues of hms shaped carabiners with the grigri. Can be purchased from any reputable dealer liks your local gym, REI, etc. At some point in the future y

Work positioning/fall restraint on remote A frame cabin
As suggested above, ground anchors will likely be 1. Easier to rig, and 2. Stronger and less prone to stretching. The ASAP is rated for use on an incline per petzl's documentation, but it's a pricy bit of kit for one DIY job. Progress capture on a camping assisted belay device like a grigri or bette

Help with choosing climbing gear
Try on harnesses and hang in them if they’ll let you. Buy what’s most comfortable, they’re like shoes and nobody can tell you what’s going to feel good for you. Get a Grigri and locking carabiner (I’d recommend a Petzl SMD, but any locking carabiner will work).

Advice after top-rope belaying/lowering accident?
belay gloves / assisted braking device (grigri, pilot, giga jul) and you will be totally fine also consider thickness of rope vs size of atc. some are super wide and thinner ropes fly through (BD ATC), some are really skinny (e.g. Petzl reverso) and thick ropes will be almost jammed in there in your
