Having used an s9 and S5iix for over a year and having switched now to a Nikon setup with ZR/Z8/ZF I can only say I am more happy with current gear BUT for your needs, an S9 it’s the best bang for the bucks you can have. Yes, crop on 4k60 it’s a pain in the arse but noting that will make you rip you

There's been plenty of close misses and touch and goes where the second slot has saved the day. Especially in the early days of CF cards but there's also been times where even dual cards haven't saved me Lost an entire shoot on dual cards on location because my S5iix killed (and bricked) both Samsun

The next line is Editing always plays a factor, but when I compare my S5IIX to my ZR, ZF, or Z6III... hands down nikon looks better. so they swapped from another full-frame camera, nothing to do with m43. Just happened to be Panasonic.

Be aware, there's apparently a shutter lag issue with the S5II and Godox gear (in TTL). https://www.reddit.com/r/Lumix/comments/1egjpzb/godox_and_s5iix_is_a_bad_pairing/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Lumix/comments/1l6bog3/s1riis1ii_users_is_there_a_lag_when_using_flash/ It doesn't sound like it's an issue for portrai

BM most likely put ProRes Raw in only the Pocket 4K because it was a very old camera and they were satisfying some contract they have with Apple. Look like a business tactic, rather than them earnestly wanted to provide new features. With the S5IIX, I doubt they’re going to add internal raw (or to U

I'll tell you why I want to switch, maybe you can understand me then.I want 4K 48-60 FPS recording for video with good AF and IBIS that doesn't overheat and doesn't break the bank. The problem: the S5IIx has a crop, and even when I record in 1080, the good AF is gone (the S9 have it!?). The A7IV ove

It's not only a problem of oversharpening, it's mainly a problem of detail filtering and temporal noise reduction. It can be fixed by a firmware update yes, but Panasonic never fixed it on the S5II and S5IIX.

I just get confused by the language some people use when trying to downplay the reality of the overheating. Even in our short exhange, you started at "doesn't really overheat" and immediately went to "it obviously overheats quicker than my S5IIX." It's a bit of whiplash, and I don't think downplayin

If Panasonic finally decides to release small body (GX9 or G90 successor) with PDAF and Real Time LUT that would suit your needs just perfect. For now, google says that only compatible bodies are G9 mk2, GH7 and bunch of full frames (S9, S5II, S5IIX, S1IIE, S1II, S1RII). From those S9 with grip migh

I totally get your frustration! My S5IIX has been unusable for nearly a year, by July 25, it’ll be a full year. It just sits in a box, and I’m still hoping for Panasonic to help solve this issue.
