Is it unreasonable to keep Lumix (S5ii and S9) for video and buy a Canon R5 just for photography?

Even my Lumix S1 with DFD is fast and accurate enough for any kind of photography, with only exception being tracking birds mid flight (it can do that too, but PDAF makes it easier). Believe it or not, but they actually did paid photography before the mirrorless era and those DSLR's had so much slow

Would you still choose Lumix if starting today?

Yes, definitely. I've used other systems as well and always come back to using Lumix the most. I just love their ergonomics, aggressive pricing and menu system - I think the menu system is second best to Leica's. L mount lens selection is excellent now and is getting better every year, most 3rd part

Considering moving back to Canon from Lumix

Wouldn’t you know it, I shoot Lumix at my day job and own the Canon R6 Mkiii and C70 at home (the r6 and c50 share most of their internals and features, I believe the auto focus is exactly the same). So I’m pretty well read on this subject from both camps. So, for one: Are you just using the origina

Is the S5ii capable enough for feature filmmaking?

Don't fall into the gear acquisition trap - pretty much any Lumix camera from the last 5 years will give you excellent results for filmmaking if you pair it with a good lens, lighting and sound. S5ii is definitely good enough. Plenty of filmmakers are still using the GH5.

Is it worth switching from the Sony A7 IV to the Lumix S5IIX?

While I have two S5ii cameras and I’ve shot everything on them ever since they came out.. don’t switch. The A7 IV is also an excellent camera and unless you specifically need a Lumix feature like Open Gate or IBIS, I’d say the better move would be to learn the system you already own and practice you

Should I buy the Panasonic Lumix S5 for jewellery photography and slow-motion videos? ₹2L budget

If your only use case is jewellery macro, I would steer you towards lumix 100mm 2.8 macro. And also if autofocus is important, consider s5ii. Also, in India you would get far better deals when shopping at your local camera store compared to something like amazon.

Thoughts on Lumix S5iix for video vs what I currently use (Nikon Z8)

Hey there! Full time business photographer videographer here. Looks like you’re hitting the limit of using a hybrid photo camera for long form video. The Nikon Z8 is an incredible camera, but some would say it isn’t built for hour plus continuous recording, especially in a theater environment. Readi

S5ii first lens recommendations?

S5iiX and S1ii longtime user here! Been in this situation hunting lenses, many times, for10 yrs. Short answer if one-and-done: Sigma 20-200 Tried almost all Sigmas and Lumixes, bought every FF L mount focal length from primes to zooms, 14-200mm. M4/3 too. Can't go wrong with any starting out really.

S1R II / S1 II or Sony A7V?

S1II and GH4 autofocus is night and day difference. For me, until the release of the S5II, autofocus in Lumix basically didn’t exist. I never had any issues with S1II like pulsing when using the default AF settings.

Is Lumix better for video than photography?

It's very good for photography with a few caveats. This is based on my experience with the S5ii, latest firmware. AFC + TTL flash performance is still not on par with major brands, Sony, Nikon and Canon. There is a delay. It's good enough that many users don't care or don't notice but if you are com
