Would you still choose Lumix if starting today?

Yes, definitely. I've used other systems as well and always come back to using Lumix the most. I just love their ergonomics, aggressive pricing and menu system - I think the menu system is second best to Leica's. L mount lens selection is excellent now and is getting better every year, most 3rd part

Is the S5ii capable enough for feature filmmaking?

Don't fall into the gear acquisition trap - pretty much any Lumix camera from the last 5 years will give you excellent results for filmmaking if you pair it with a good lens, lighting and sound. S5ii is definitely good enough. Plenty of filmmakers are still using the GH5.

Thoughts on Lumix S5iix for video vs what I currently use (Nikon Z8)

Hey there! Full time business photographer videographer here. Looks like you’re hitting the limit of using a hybrid photo camera for long form video. The Nikon Z8 is an incredible camera, but some would say it isn’t built for hour plus continuous recording, especially in a theater environment. Readi

As an FX6 user I am actually impressed by the S5ii

Cannot compare the G85 to the S5II. I swapped from G85 as my first to the S5II, the former having pretty rough AF. Lumix isn’t perfect for autofocus, but they’ve made leaps that it feels usable most of the time, but of course not better than Sony. However the tradeoff I was willing to take are solid

Any Lumix Cameras Around $2000 That are Just as Good, If Not Better Than The Sony FX30?

I think Panasonic has the video game on lock. Also , if you’re looking for a camera there are 2 or 3 S5IIx listed in r/photomarket

What camera do I choose for video? S9, s5ii, x-s20

I haven't used any of these cameras but I do own the S1ii and have been researching Lumix gear....too much. IMO The size difference between the S9 and S5ii is basically a non factor unless you plan on carting it around in a bag (with a cage it will be difficult to put the S5ii in a small camera bag

Shoot horizontal & vertical?

I shoot wide and crop most of the time with my real estate clients. For any parts where they're talking on camera, I shoot in 6K Open Gate (Lumix S5iiX), which gives me plenty of options for cropping vertical or horizontal. For the b-roll, I shoot wide then crop. And honestly with how short the vert

S5ii AF is rough

Here are my tips/what I do. My AF is tact sharp, around the 90% within Sony and Canon range. I also use the 24-70 S Pro, as well as the 70-200mm S Pro (f2.8), 16-35mm S Pro, and a bunch of LUMIX Prime lenses. Update to the latest firmware that released yesterday. Turn AF Detection Setting on. KEY PA

Nikon z5 II --VS-- Lumix s5 II, Who wins?

I’ve used both for a pretty good amount of time. They both serve as the best budget full frame hybrid cameras on the market. The nikon offers a better experience for those more inclined to photography (especially flash and sports photography) lumix uses an old olympus mount which limits what flashes

Lumix s5ii vs Sony a7 IV vs canon R6ii

Are L Mount lenses all caps expensive? A Sigma 24-70 ii is 1300 USD (avail for L mount), Sony 24-70 ii is $2500, Canon 24-70 is $2500, Nikon 24-70 ii is $2800, Panasonic 24-70 is $2100. And then in the cheaper range, Panasonic 24-60 is $1050 and the Sigma 28-70 is $990. Canon has a collapsible 28-70
