Gerald spilling tea about Lumix

Yeah. I noticed for the S5II/X not a single YouTuber mentioned the HDMI lag issue except for Gerald. Now I know why. That is the biggest con of the camera. I can overlook the issue because otherwise the camera is great, but I feel like shit finding out the issue after buying it instead of hearing ab

I am debating between s5ii or go back to sony a7iv for wedding photography?

The saying goes, grass isn’t always greener on the other side. I learnt the hard way too, the hype train got me, I went Nikon > Lumix > Nikon. Ive used the Sony a7iv a few times and s5ii is no where near as good. Had you gotten the s1ii, then it wouldn’t have been so bad. I will get a tone of hate b

S5III prediction base on S1HII rumors?

Current hardware in S5II/X isn't up to that readout speed. It's double the pixels of the ZVE1. There's way more to this equation than merely the numbers 4k and 60 fps. Plus Lumix has staked it's brand reputation on rock solid reliability, not pushing the envelope on bleeding edge speed. You're askin

Unpolular opinion about s9

It should have been a camera and not a video camera. It looks like a Leica, so do everything to make it take top-quality photos and leave the video aside. The 15 minutes of video proves it; the form factor of the body is not made for video! In contrast, the Lumix team decided to make compromises eve

Should I buy a used S1 II for 2k in mint condition, but with no warranty?

I use my S1II professionally and I purchased it new. Lumix offers in Europe a 5 year extended warranty. So here's my 2 cents based on experience: I had the S5II and G9II, BOTH of which have needed to be sent to service. The S5II after a year as the shutter button started malfuntioning and the G9II h

Flash for outdoor events: where should I start?

Godox and the Panasonic L-mount bodies may not be a great choice, like it is for everybody else: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lumix/comments/1egjpzb/godox_and_s5iix_is_a_bad_pairing/ There's apparently a lag on firing, and issues with TTL accuracy, as well as banding issues with HSS. Godox might work if you'r

Shots at the Saloon with the GX85

Looks gorgeous. Honestly most of the pics here taken by people with S5 and S5ii have been pretty disappointing compared to other full frame camera subs or even Fujis. But then there are you M43 wizards who come and blow those out of the water. Just shows its the man behind the camera and not the cam

TIL why you don't leave gear on top of the car...

I did the same thing with my S5ii and the rear dial is a bit crooked so I had to make the D-pad wheel my aperture (thank god for Panasonic’s customization options)

Lumix S5II HSS issue: i-T32 triggers Strobos 60 but fails with Reporter 360/180 (via USB receivers). Upgrade to X3-O or X2T-O?

Will the new Godox X3-O (Xnano) be compatible with these older XTR-16 USB receivers for HSS on the S5II? Very hard to say. The FTR16 (older 433 MHz version of those receivers) only did HSS with the Cells II transmitters for Canon (and supposedly Nikon but the Nikon version never appeared before the

Multiple Lumix Purchases from Official Panasonic Store (Germany) – Repeated QC Issues

My Lumix s5II screen was always a bit hanging downwards. Till someone ran over my tripod and the screen and mechanism needed to be repaired. The screen opening and closing feels more sturdy now. My shutter button needs a replace since I got the focus problem. Af doesn’t work 98% of the time anymore.
