BMCC6K vs Lumix S1Rii 8k BRAW image?

I have a Pyxis 6K and a S1II (not S1RII). The OLPF really does make the difference. Helps take the edge off the 6K sensor and moire is quite noticeable on the Lumix cameras. S1II / S1RII footage is oversharpen, even the “raw” is quite sharp (but better than H.264). The theory is that Panasonic neede

Sold the Lumix S1R II for the S5 II - verdict 6 months later

My understanding, and it could be incorrect as Panasonic is so secretive about these details, is that the thermal sensor of the image sensor was too sensitive and proactively ended recording well before any concern to the sensor. Panasonic LUMIX had to experiment with determining what that correct l

Canon to Lumix s1rii anyone? How are the colors!

Yeah I have read about this as well, Panasonic doesn't abandon old products compared to the other big vendors. Thanks for commenting. I am very much inclined towards s1rii, despite there being canon r6iii, Sony a7v. They might be direct competitors but the used prices are similar.

BMCC6K vs Lumix S1Rii 8k BRAW image?

Well... yes. I mean, you wouldn't be turning the S1RII into a Blackmagic camera. You'd still be shooting and conforming the footage using V-log, with the S1RII's sensor as a base. That sensor is quite different to the one in the BMCC6KFF/Pyxis 6K. Higher resolution, higher dynamic range, relatively

Should I sell my D850?

Just to say thank you to the OP and to this thread. I'd been on the fence for months between the Z7ii and the Lumix S1Rii to replace/augment a Fuji X-H2 and a D800e (in use since 2012 with Zeiss ZF.2 glass for primarily landscape). Reading this thread at 5:00 this morning, the clear advantages of st

LUMIX S1IIE From Deal From Panasonic Direct

Not a bad deal. Great price for just a straight up purchase. I used the "Trade-in Trade-up" promotion. The link still works, but it doesn't mention the coupon amount anymore, just that a coupon is provided. Worth checking if interested. You don't have to complete the purchase if the coupon isn't as

Autofocus: Fujifilm XT5 vs Panasonic S mk2 variants?

Why don’t you get a Lumix S1RII or S1II and try it by yourself? You can always return it. Personally as an S5IIX and S1II owner, I would say the focus is as reliable as Sony, Canon or Nikon, being Fuji behind in video. In fact I’ve watched a video recently where an R5II misses focus on a wedding vid

Nikon Z8 vs Lumix S1R II – Anyone shot both? Which would you choose any why?

I have both but also the S1II and I just sold my Z6III. I wanted to sold my Z8 too but I'm not sure since the new firmware update of the S1RII. I thought we would get 8K Prores Raw but it is still cropped. The truth is the Z8 has better video quality than the S1RII since it can record in full frame P

AMA about the new Lumix S1RII camera

I have the Sony A1. The great lowlight noise in photos and best AF I ever used are features too good to lose. How does the Panasonic S1RII match up?
