Autofocus LUMIX S1R II vs r5 mark 2 for photo (not worried about video)
Canons AF is better overall, and more importantly easier to use. The AF on the S1rii is good, but you really will need to dial in your AF settings on the environment and lenses used. If you're shooting sports or anything that requires tracking AF, Canons AF will blow lumix out of the water. Eye AF i

Nikon Z8 vs Lumix S1R II – Anyone shot both? Which would you choose any why?
I’ve used the Z9 (and Z6III) for professional motorsports and portrait work. I also owned an S1RII for my personal camera that I have now sold and replaced with a Z8. If you are shooting Raw and processing in Lightroom they are a toss-up for colors, noise and dynamic range. Literally so close it wou

Colors and Image of the S1II compared to S1H, S1R2 and S5II
I made a post very similar some days ago. While I like Prores Raw to finally get the same IQ than the OG S1 and S5, the excellent IBIS, DR and AF, the colors are really not great most of the time SOOC. The greens are unimpressive and unnatural, like you said the sky looks lifeless. But more importan

Am I the only one who hates having to buy new gear and finds new gear upgrades boring these days?
Upgrading is for mugs, Essentially. I still shoot weddings on a 5dmk 2. 😱. I do have a Panasonic s1 but I got that second hand. It’s more camera than I could ever want. There’s absolutely nothing I could ever gain by getting the new s1r2.

Autofocus LUMIX S1R II vs r5 mark 2 for photo (not worried about video)
While I love Lumix, if your work is mostly just photography, I wouldn't look at the S1RII at all and go with the industry standard R5II or Sony A7V.

Lumix or Fuji as a recommendation for a friend that doesn't do photography, but needs a camera for his business (a cafe)
As a long time Panasonic Shooter (G7 to G9 to S1 to S5iiX to S1R2), my favorite out of camera jpegs to this day were from my XT3. I would recommend Fuji. If they need wider angle lenses though, Id recommend the S9.

These cameras couldn't be more different
I’ve have all 3 but parted with the G9ii in favor of an s1r2. I regret this decision for a number of reasons, but none are related to weight. The S9 is cool, but the om5 ii runs circles around it. The s9 makes you realize how much the om5’s ibis makes an impact. Yes, more dynamic range in the s9, bu

Really struggled with autofocus S5ii
So I’ve been playing around with the s1r2 that I got after trading in my G9ii and a bunch of the pro lenses.. and I regret jumping ship. I had no idea the autofocus would be this much inferior compared to an m43 system. The Panasonic 85 hunts, the sigmas are worse. You don’t even really notice the d

Panasonic has registered two new cameras in China!
For the love of mercy please finally be the lumix s1h mkii or Lumix s2h. Whichever. I really don't want to buy the lumix s1rii and would just rather buy the lumix s5iix at this point and if not the Canon r7 for that crazy 7k crop.

Lumix s1r2e camera rumor
Despite just picking up an S1Rii and having no need for a new camera, I'm hungry for rumors about a new Lumix camera just for the fun if it... but looks doubtful. Especially the weird naming convention. Anything "S1" presumably keeps the same body. So an "e" model would imply worse specs and/or weak
