Thoughts on Lumix S5iix for video vs what I currently use (Nikon Z8)

Hey there! Full time business photographer videographer here. Looks like you’re hitting the limit of using a hybrid photo camera for long form video. The Nikon Z8 is an incredible camera, but some would say it isn’t built for hour plus continuous recording, especially in a theater environment. Readi

Struggling to love Lumix photos after Fuji — anyone else?

I didn't use Fuji before but also just didn't like the colors out of my new S5II at all, even when editing my raws, compared to my old Canon. Then I found this guy: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lumix/comments/1p1rm30/i_mathematically_hacked_panasonic_vlog_to/ and now I pretty much shoot exclusively jpgs wit

Old Sony Users Who Switched To Panasonic; Any Regrets?

Over the past eight years, I’ve shot professionally with Sony cameras. I’ve used the a7III, a7IV, a7R V, and the FX3. They’re solid tools, no doubt about it. When Panasonic released the original Lumix S1, I decided to try it out of curiosity. I loved a lot about the camera, but the autofocus perform

Lumix S1II vs Nikon Z8 for 60/40 Video/Photo

I have both. I wanted a second body for video and picked up an S1ii a few weeks ago. Z8 has been my main photo beast for awhile. I find myself using the S1ii more and more as my edc and I've really been enjoying using it as true hybrid. For some reason it makes me want to get out and take more video

Over-processed image of the S5iix / S1ii ?

By all accounts you can get a more organic image by shooting Pro-Res and Raw formats, but these come with huge file sizes. H264 and H265 file sizes are so much more reasonable for so many workflows - and I have also noticed the difference going from an S1 / S1H to an S5II. Up-voting this because its

S1R II / S1 II or Sony A7V?

if you are mainly looking to shoot video, the s1ii is the clear best choice. for photography s1rii has higher resolution and better evf while a7V has better af, less rolling shutter and slightly better dynamic range. if you are going to shoot photos as much as video, the a7V might be the best option

upgrading from the GH5S? New S1II or wait for the FX3II?

There aren’t really any rumors about an FX3ii yet. I used a GH5/GH5s for years until 2021 when I got an A7siii due to the autofocus and low light ability. If Panasonic had come out with something with decent autofocus at that point I would probably still be with them. Though that being said I own 2x

Switching to Lumix S1RII (or S1II) for professional photography?

Hi, first of all I'd like to point out that based on your description in your post you can't go wrong with either of these great 2nd generation LUMIX cameras. If I may I'd like to share with you why we chose the S1 II over the S1R II. We tested the S1R II for a couple of months side by side to the S

My first Lumix (S5 + 50mm 1.8)

I still use the s5 to this day. Clients always question if my projects were shot on red or arri. People get caught up in the hype of new cameras or specific brands but. Coming from the gh3, then gh4, to the s1 then s5 Panasonic has been my go too. The goal is s1ii and the s1h mkII (whenever that get

It finally happened: RedxNikon

For the price, the features you get are absolutely insane. “Back in the day” (2015) I spent close to $30K on a RED Epic Dragon that pretty much has the same frame rates and main resolution combinations this tiny little camera now offers for less than 1/10 the price (if we look at things as body only
